"At 3:00 pm check in, when I asked for a room away from traffic as I have sleep issues, the middle aged female clerk instead gave me a noisy room closest to the main road at the end of the hall. I returned to the check in counter, and a 2nd, younger clerk gave me a room midway down the hall away from the traffic noise. The room appeared to be attractive and clean, but the floors were dirty as evidenced by my newly washed sandals used in room only, becoming filthy on the bottom. The room also smelled like insecticide. There appeared to be tiny dead bugs on the floor at the bedside. Mornings after 8 am were noisy due to housekeepers constantly knocking on doors and repeating loudly "housekeeping". Speaking of housekeeping, when guests got on and off the elevators, the view on the 1st floor was the main housekeeping facility. The breakfast room was mostly high top tables, which looked unattractive. Breakfast was basic but I was ok with hard boiled eggs and raisin bran and decaf coffee. Plain water was nowhere to be found. Breakfast was from 6 to 9 am. The check in counter area also had lemon water which I can't drink as lemon irritates my stomach. The lemon water was from the previous day also until changed at 10:30 am. The coffee at the check in counter area also was old in the morning until 10:30 am."

"The experience was top notch from the arrival to the departure. Clean , organize and safe property conveniently located to everything possible. The staff and team members were very polite and cosice , could ask for more of a fluid seamless system they have conquered!"

"They only had one working elevator and it barely worked. Waited forever for it and then it would take you to random floors. Ice machines were down so had to get ice at the bar. Had to have them come and redo the bed because it looked like they just threw the comforter on without changing the sheets. The toilets had to be flushed several times to get the toilet paper down. My daughter’s room had no hot water. We have been coming to this hotel for 23 years for dance competitions, and it has seriously gone down. I will say the staff was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. But the big wigs need to take a serious look at this property and give it some major help."

"While there were many positives regarding my stay, everything seemed cheap. The blankets, the pillows were terrible, the toilet paper, the incredibly loud doors slamming shut every time someone left or entered their room….not worth the price. And the food was god awful. Those were not scrambled eggs, at least not from this planet. Up your game, Marriot, or lower the price and pay your staff better. The staff were nice and courteous. Pay em more."

"The property is dated and could use refurbishment and it's underway. Mostly it needs to be brightened up by repainting and the carpet removed and or replaced. However, everything was clean including bedding, floors and furnishings. It was an older Ramada Inn with their older dark colors. My wife and I never felt uncomfortable and would/will stay there in the future. It's location is in an area of low income spread. We read all previous ratings before going there. I can only say it's obvious to us the poor ratings are largely prejudicial for feeling uncomfortable due to it's location within the low income sprawl. I know this because I was raised within a block of the hotel 65 years ago. All said, why spend 3x or 5x the money to stay elsewhere? Frankly it's stupid! There is a high fence around the sides and back of the property with barbed wire that might be intimidating to some people. Some might think it's to keep people from coming onto hotel property. However, a close look reveals the fence has been constructed to prevent people from entering the adjacent business (not residential) properties when they are closed. Refurbishment is underway but slow due to the high cost. All I can say is don't write it off based upon comments by people who tried to take advantage of their policy of allowing a pet. The bad ratings was the result of a renter not disclosing the fact they had more than a dozen dogs that were part of a dog show. "
