Eastnor Castle. By Robert Smirke, for John Somers Cocks, 2nd Baron Somers, and at vast expense. Begun in 1811 and completed in 1824, the house enjoys a wonderful position overlooking the lake and looks towards the Malverns. Set in fabulous parkland and with an interior full of interest, Eastnor makes a great day out.

Wifi very poor. Poor selection of biscuits when the clubhouse is so remote and closed on an evening. Breakfast expensive for 1 sausage, 1 poached egg and two fatty rations of bacon and 1/2 a tomato & 1 slice of toast with no marmalade or butter.
