We stayed the last week of February 2024, and had room 7 and absolutely loved it. The room wasn't quite ready when we arrived, but after a text exchange with the owner it was quickly taken care of. We would definitely stay here again!

We liked the set up with the sitting areas and it was nice. It was a little cooler in the room as the air conditioner was not taken out. It was hard to keep it at the temperature that we wanted.

AMAZING. My new favorite place.
This was one of THE COOLEST places I have ever stayed. I can’t wait to come back. I just loved everything about it. The entire place is covered in art. The bar area was my absolute favorite. My girlfriend and I hung out on the couch playing board games while admiring the never-ending art in the room. 10/10 would stay again.

This was our second time staying here and we loved it! We will definitely be back. The service is always wonderful and everyone is so accommodating. It’s also in a great area near quite a few restaurants, beaches, and stores. I would definitely recommend people stay here even if it’s just for a night if they get the chance!

No one was there. I got no response to what to do. No return email as was suggested to get in touch. Phone number posted was a not working number. Hoping not to be charged. Waited 15 minutes and nothing. Very disappointed

Horrible experience!!! No sleep because of party noise. A toilet that couldn’t flush feces. Bug bites from? …bedbugs? An owner refusing to take responsibility. Late October stay was off-season, with no staff present. It looked like a decent place with lots of common areas. I went to sleep at 11:30pm with all quiet. Sometime after 2am loud music & voices began. We hoped it would stop but by 5:30am I was furious and went to see what was going on. The jukebox in the main room was blasting. I saw 8 people with likely more partying. Back in my room I sent a text at 6am. A few minutes later I heard people saying things indicating they had been told to stop, and within minutes everything was quiet. It seemed to me the owner had contacted them. At 9am the owner responded to me for the first time with a bunch of defensive sounding responses. Very off putting. In addition to the all night party, the toilet in our room would not properly flush down feces. There were signs trying to give instruction on how to flush, but nothing worked. His response was “The property is from 1751… there old plumbing which is why we have signs”. To add to this misery, my wife received three bug bites that night. After researching they look like bedbug bites. I asked for a refund numerous times and the owner didn’t acknowledge my request. I emailed later with no response. Hence this review.

Disappointed
I arrived with no one in sight. I waited intil 3:50 before I got to my room. The worker could hardly speak Or understand English. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with someone who was trying tell her where the key was. Asked for one of two rooms be cancelled because of accident and NEVER RECEIVED A MESSAGE OR PHONE CALLBACK. Very disappointed for the price. Won’t stay again.

This was a charming place to stay! The staff was extremely friendly, helpful in recommendations and attentive. Peaceful and home feel with lots to look at within the house (art). Extremely clean!!!! Loved my stay.

Rugosa Guest House
Great property! Lots of amenities including a full kitchen. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! 5 minute drive to the beaches.

This is a very unique property with lots of art, a calming atmosphere, good amenities (mini fridge in room, shared fridge and kitchen/dining space, garden, salt water pool). Just great!

Adorable guest house that is perfectly located for beaches, dining and shopping. Loved the artwork and decor, and Susie was very kind and helpful at check in and during our stay. The beds were comfortable, as were linens and pillows. Our only suggestion is for a closer eye on cleanliness. The pool had not been cleaned in a while, there is a dirty ring around the stairs where you get in and a lot of sand on the bottom. In our room, we did not use the jacuzzi tub as the previous guests hair was tangled in the filter cover. We understand its peak season, which results in rapid turnover between guests, but at this price point attention to detail matters.

This is a well-preserved building with many features of old mansions. It has everything needed for a quiet vacation. Proximity to beaches and attractions, but not the crowded streets. Within an easy drive from Wellfleet, Provincetown, and all of the parks of the cape. It is well-managed staffed.

The room was clean and nice. It was convenient to the friends I was visiting. I brought my dog and was given a room on the second floor. It was very difficult to get my dog up and down the very narrow and extremely steep stairs. He is a young dog and perfectly capable of climbing the stairs but the stairs were scary for him. I had to entice him with treats but that didn't always work. He is a 65 lb. dog and I can not lift him to carry him on a normal walkway let alone a steep and narrow staircase. Getting him up the stairs was actually a bit dangerous because I had to worry about both of us cliimbing the stairs at the same time. Looked like there was a perfectly good room on the first floor. Yes, it's nice that it was quiet but except for when I checked in I never saw another human being in the 48 hours my dog and stayed there. That's a little too quiet. I did speak with Joey on the phone and had a few issues resolved but I wouldn't stay there again.

Hello Ellie, We are sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience with us. We are a small run guest house which means that we have a small team. I am usually there to welcome our guests during standard check-in time between 3-5pm. Unfortunately I had a medical emergency which prevented me from being there. Our housekeeper may have been in a guest room, cleaning after a check-out. The other guests staying with us may have been out of the house early or arrived back to the house later in the day. These may be reasons you didn't cross paths with anyone at our Guest House. Sometimes things happen and we have to move (upgrade) guests to different rooms at no additional cost to them. The stairs that you speak of are original to home which was built in 1751 so I understand how they can come across as discomforting. We hope that you'll consider staying with us again. We have several rooms on the ground floor. You can note on your reservation for a ground floor room only, or call us after you've booked to confirm the room location. We value all of our guests and we work hard to ensure that their stay with us in an enjoyable one.

quiet times in Eastham
staying at The Rugosa was perfect for our weekend stay in Eastham. Our room wasn't elaborate but very comfortable and staff was very accommodating to our needs. We used the facilities and made our meals and with wine we sat by the fire rather than go into inclement weather. The house is filled with a lot of artwork representing local artists. Communication was very good regarding our stay The house is located in Eastham close to many local restaurants and small stores

The rooms are poorly laid out and in desperate need of an upgrade. We stayed in the large "captians" room, a large expanse with poor layout, tiny bathroom, a moldy smell and broken and missing shades and missing screens so opening windows was not an option. An inoperable Jacuzzi with no cold running water added to the frustration.
