"The stay just ended on the wrong note with what looked like a 10cm/10cm blood stain in the entryway of our room. We were lucky enough that they had other rooms available. The second room bathroom sink smelled like pee. Just really not what I am used to from a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. Really disappointed from a cleanliness standpoint but hotel looks cool and is 10 minutes walk from the airport."

"Staff were so friendly! I was half an hour early for check in and only came in to ask about the car if I could leave it there to grab some lunch but they allowed me to check in early and sign the tablet for my car! I will definitely be coming again. Breakfast was lovely too. Taking the order whilst going in to grab some continental. Very quick service with hot food."

"This hotel was okay, not great. First of all, there is NO lift/ elevator and there are lots of stairs - good to know in advance. The breakfast was not great - below average. This hotel caters for coach/ bus tours rather than individual travellers. The original room we were put in was not well kept and the replacement room was better but still not great. I would say this is hotel is distinctly average with room for improvement. Not sure that I would stay there again, and we go to Edinburgh nearly...

"Everything was clean. I loved my room. It’s not the most updated place in the world, but it had its own charm. It’s warm and inviting. The staff was great, and had good suggestions for tours. It’s kind of a pain not having anything nearby. No convenience stores or coffee shops. You have to take a train or Uber. I tried the connected restaurant twice and did not care for it. It’ll do though with nothing else around. Overall, it was a good value and I felt safe and comfortable"

"Booked a room with a sofa bed because we were 3 traveller but upon checking in we weren’t given one. When I asked why we didn’t get what we booked I was told cause I didn’t ask for one and that 2 people can share a bed!?! They didn’t offer a room change or and upgrade and when I asked for this I was told no. The carpets throughout the hotel were in terrible condition…very stained and lifting up. "The Balmoral is a beautiful hotel! Its location is perfect since it’s close to all major attractions. The staff are accommodating and helpful. I’ve stayed in two different rooms and both were lovely and had great views. The restaurant is very good and the high tea in the Palm Court is superb!"
