Came for the UNH Graduation weekend. We enjoyed our stay and got everything we requested in a timely manner, in addition to the staff being very kind. Our only complaint was no option to get rooms cleaned in between days of our stay. Other than that, it was great!
Downtown Dover Inn is in the center of the town, so close to everything and the staff is excellent and very knowledgeable about the city and the surrounding areas.
Everything about the newly renovated motel seemed nice. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice bathrooms, coffee maker and seemed quiet in the room.
That is until the heat kicked on from the wall unit. It was a freight train and would only go off and on. It wouldn't take being set on low and have the fan run. It would be off and quiet than roar on. I got about 2 hours of sleep each night there.
Once they replace all the wall units, it might be nice.
The room was very clean and it looked like the bathroom had revent upgrades. There was ample parking and the location was close to dining options. The beds were a bit uncomfortable to me however, I'd definitely stay at this property again.
We actually ended up not staying at this place. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star across the board was that the front desk person did check with her manager and was able to refund us for not staying. (There is still a hold on my debit card that I’m hopinggoes away , if not I will be in contact with them.
Our room had visible dust from the door, stains on the headboard, the carpet was stained, the bathroom floor was tacky. This previously was a days inn that is known in the area for not attracting a good crowd. We parked our vehicle in the parking lot to get out and see broken vehicle glass all over. I was given the option of another room, which I looked at and it was slightly better but not enough to want to stay. We were told that “if you leave now, we’ll refund your stay” - we couldn’t leave fast enough
I am the costumer for a theater group and when we preform at the The Strand it is so convenient to stay at the Downtown Dover Inn. I can walk over to the theater and then don’t have to drive home late at night.
Their rates are reasonable and since the hotel was remodeled it is so nice to stay there.
The only issue I have is that the tub is slick so you have to be careful getting in and out. Beds super comfortable. So glad to be able to stay at this property again.
