"If you want a break away from the hustle this is the perfect tonic. Staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. An idyllic setting, walk down to the pebble beach or use this as a base to drive to the nearby places and come back and enjoy the wonderful food/drinks in the spacious gardens. Thank you!"

"Lovely rural Dorset pub. Excellent food, locally sourced. Staff very friendly. It is very rural, and that is its charm. Do be prepared for high hedgerows and single track roads but worth it when you get there."
"Great location just a short drive from the beach. Plenty of shopping in walking distance and a nice farmers market on the doorstep when we were there.
Helpful guide in the room detailing local activities and pleasant staff working throughout during our stay.

"This Hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard. The room was was perfect for us, and the breakfast was with some great quality produce (bacon especially)! Staff were really nice and helpful too. Just there when you need them. No fuss. Highly recommended. "
"It was clean and quiet plenty of parking easy to find the only down side was there was no welcome pack in are room it turned up the the day before we left but we will be going back great place to stay"
"The hosts were great… however, the cleanliness was not good!. Upon inspecting our bed, it was clear that the bedding had not been changed, we found two pieces of grass and several pieces of body hair, including eyelashes… "
"Great location for harbour, beach, shopping, buses etc. Free off street parking. Clean room and bathroom. Room with fridge, tea and coffe and tv, comfortable bed with sheet as well as duvet which was welcomed, and had fan in room. Breakfast was really excellent, lots of choice cereal fresh fruit yogurt breads plus cooked or continental. Chris and Jackie very welcoming and went out of their way to help us. Would recommend."
"Warm welcome by the host, explained everything you need to know. The bed was really comfortable, room was spacious and tidy, even had a fan which was welcome as the nights where in the 20s. Breakfast was gorgeous, cereals,full english or if you asked for anything similar they'd do it, the coffee was lovely, they also catered for the continental visitors. Spacious car park and a nice ten minute walk to the seaside. Overall i would recommend The George and would certainly visit again.

"Very central. Amazing location. Comfortable bed. Beautiful sitting room with amazing view. Delicious breakfast. Very helpful owners proprietors who live on property. Love the other guests. If I ever go back to this area this would be where I would stay. "

"The Old Ship Inn is the perfect place to stay during our trip to Dorchester and surrounding area. It’s a gorgeous Inn tucked into a very special old pub. Our room was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. We will be coming back here for sure. "
