"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "

There is a fan but not a/c and during the night it is quite hot. Only cold water. There is a mosquito net but it is too short so mosquitoes get in the sleeping area. "Stayed for two weeks in September 2023. For starters, the host family at Talalla Freedom are wonderful. Helpful, friendly, adjusted to my food allergies, went over and beyond. Rs 250 for a pot of fresh tea. The pool is lovely and well kept, the view and access to Talalla beach is phenomenal (as long as you don't have any mobility issues. Beds are Sri Lanka firm but comfy. You can sit in a nice recliner with your tea and watch the monkeys walk by. The birds in the area are beautiful. Be aware...

"Beautiful hotel with stunning views. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. There was so much to do - yoga, meditation, beach, pool, painting, pottery, movies etc. We were sad we could only stay for 2 nights!"

"Very very Clean. The Boys are very helpful. The property was well kept and its like ur at home. I would highly recommend this place. I only stay 1 night so i was not able to enjoy all the facility. I would go back again. Breakfast was really good. "
