"Great location overlooking the ocean. Parking was easy and convenient. Room was pretty clean but we did note a dirty spoon left in the dishwasher when we arrived, and the phone was quite dusty and dirty. Bed is super comfy and shower was brilliant. Room amenities were miserly given our week long booking. We accept it is a self contained apartment but two teaspoons and only a few cooking utensils is just annoying. Also two toilet rolls for two adults is just cheap.
We booked 3+ months out, and in an off-season, so expected a room higher up the building. This was a minor disappointment. The staff are probably the biggest asset besides the location. Everyone was friendly, helpful and understanding. Our biggest issue was not having a working washing machine/drier. The problem was attempted to be solved but took two days/attempts which included some minor flooding of the carpet so extractor fans were installed while we were out for the day. Luckily they had dried the carpet by the time we returned. It was disappointing to return to this and the machine STILL not working properly, which meant some disruption to our afternoon and evening sorting out laundry options with the frontdesk. The offer to dry our clothes was quick and worked out OK, but it was a nuisance, and after all that our machine still didn't work as we came to the last days of our stay. We were travelling on to another city with no washing facilities, hence our reliance on the washing machine at Oaks Glenelg."
