"Amazing, the photos do not do it justice, lovely cosy cottage a home from home and fully equipped. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. "

"Older hotel with some renovated rooms (which are lovely). Great sized pool with very warm water. Changing rooms in the evening were out of shower gel and full of wet towels. Lockers had keys but no wrist bands so no easy way of storing them. The pool has selected hours that children can use it and these are currently morning or after 4pm. Great location but the hotel doesn’t own the car park and its free parking behind the adjacent aquarium. You get a ticket from the hotel put in your window....

"Great location Very good staff. The Winander section has its own very helpful staff and breakfast with great views. The room we had was a very spacious and well designed. My only comment was a shaving mirror would have been useful given the distance to the actual mirror. The spa access for hotel Guests was somewhat more limited than expected and the outdoor areas were completely separate and require extra payment. "The hotel is in a perfect location. The decor is spotless. Some amazing chandeliers!!! The staff were so charming and helpful. Breakfast was great. large dining room with self service buffet having everything you desire which was frequently topped up. The bar drinks were expensive though. £25 for 2 glasses of white wine seemed way too much to us. "Over priced and the quality doesn’t match the price. Our room was in need of an upgrade, it was noisy from the road traffic and the bathroom door was rotting from damp. There was damp around the shower. The bed was only marginally more comfortable than the pavement. They even tried to charge us for a breakfast we didn’t order. This was supposed to be a luxury treat, complete failure."

"A clean and spacious room with easy access and a super large and comfortable bed. Staff couldn't do more for us, really friendly and welcoming. Loved the open garden space, well maintained and was calm and peaceful. On Sunday morning, the hotel provided a bird of pray session, the guy taking the session was super knowledgeable - such a great added extra. Great sized car park, easily accessible. "Only small gripe was the shower head had a bit of black mould on it and one roller blind came away whilst I was closing it. Luckily my husband was able to clip it back in quickly. Room and bedding both clean, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic, quality hot cooked breakfast and very pleasant staff. We would visit again, thank you."
