The place to go if you want the feel of Ryokan but want the modern amenities. Each room is gorgeous, and so well thought down to the tiniest detail. Would put it at the level of the Four Seasons or Park Hyatt. The wooden gated entry to every room, with its own rock garden makes it feel like you are coming home. The welcome locally made sweets and tea/cold towels at check in are some of the touches that make the place special. The only downside is the lack of a proper gym.

Lovely hotel, family of four staying and room was very spacious. Good location for market, pontocho alley and gion

This might have been the best room I stayed at on this trip to Japan. Very spacious, free minibar, nice balcony and of course the star of the show, the private onsen.. which was absolutely fantastic. The onsen was clean, at a hot temperature and felt genuinely healing. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast was equally as impressive, very well thought and put together dishes that explored a variety of unique tastes. We explored the grounds too and got some very nice pics as the gardens are very well...

Magnifique hôtel , en pleine nature Le service est impeccable

A unique, tranquil small hotel, that offers total commitment to anyone staying here. Food is exceptional and lots of it. Set within walking distance of several major temples and sites, and easy walking distance to several popular shopping areas, It is even very easy to visit the popular Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) no 12 bus takes you directly there. Not the cheapest, but in my opinion worth every penny. I for one have never been looked after so well and quite emotional about leaving such a...

The breakfast was good, but the bread selection wasn’t. The snacks in the guest lobby was always finished, because they kept giving small portions and very few ones too. The options for vegetarians was minimal. Room service took an hour just for dessert and then when we called them to take the trolley, they took around half an hour. When they cleaned our room they mixed all our products together including our used water bottles together, which is unhygienic and messy. We kept our products on...

I had an amazing experience here. The staff were very friendly and gave me a small tour of the hotel with some facts about its history, and the room was very spacious and comfortable. It’s an experience unto itself, so I stayed within the hotel most of the time for the night that I was there. Would recommend to everyone and would definitely stay again.

This is a really nice hotel. Well run with excellent staff. The only thing I’d say for first timers is to be aware that you are about a 25 mins walk from Gion. This is fine but becomes tiresome. The only other thing that was a slight issue was that the air con in our room was very noisy. Again not a big deal but irritating as it switches on and off all night. But otherwise it is a really nice hotel.

Great service and amenities The restaurant food was not up to the 6 senses standards

This hotel is the perfect serene escape from the bustle of Kyoto city. The staff are incredible, all spoke English and were so helpful and really made us feel welcomed and cared for the whole time. The included drinks are delightful and we were able to sample the full tea selection as well as several alcoholic beverages even during our dinner- which I would also highly recommend booking!

This is the best Hilton I’ve stayed in. And I am a frequent traveller spending 150-200 nights per year in hotels. Service was equivalent to a 5 star hotel. From check in, to managing luggage and taxis, to restaurant reservations. All perfect. Rooms spacious and very well appointed. Amazing stay
