"Lovely stay only problem was the heat in the room even with the fan on the room wouldn't cool down and unfortunately the windows didn't open. But apart from that lovely stay"

"Would never stay at this hotel again, we booked a windowless room however this was 2 floors below ground. The lifts weren’t working , the stairwell was dirty , the corridors didn’t have carpet or they were extremely worn, trying to find your room and way out was ridiculous it was like a rabbit warren with very poor signage . I was told that the rooms had previously been used for asylum seekers and this was obvious given the condition of the facility"

Both of the silver finish plates around the shower controls were loose and not attached to the walls. "We stayed over for the concert at the open air. The hotel was clean and well maintained- all the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was clean. The bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was perfect. The en-suite was very small but clean. The only thing that would have meant full star rating would have been a better parking arrangement, - a quality mattress and blackout curtains. That being said we would definitely stay here again."

"We knew the car parking was limited but theres only 5 or 6 bays so had to park the car over half a mile away. On arrival the staff were friendly got booked in and went to room. "Staff very helpful, amazing location so easy to get around various beauty spots. Park& Ride across the road. Access to Whitby so easy. Disabled visitors catered for. Staff decorated our room ( which was amazing) for my birthday. Lovely surprise."

"Fridge in property not working resulting in food being thrown away. A replacement was given but food had already become a risk to eat. On closer inspection maintenance person said seal had corroded."

"We love staying at this hotel. The staff are really helpful nothing is too much trouble. The hotel also has some really thoughtful touches like providing rain ponchos for guests heading to shows at the outdoor open air theatre. When we came back from the show we were abit cold so we loved that we could grab a complimentary hot chocolate from the lounge. They are also showing the World Cup at the hotel Cinema. Touches like this make it a really special place to stay. Can’t wait to visit again!"

"We had no running hot water other than the electric shower. No wardrobe just hangers on hooks. TV was the size of an iPad. Bottom bed sheet too small and forever coming off. Needs to be clearer when it states breakfast included but it is only cereal. Outside seating area not suitable as soiled with seagulls droppings"

The communal areas felt neglected, with stained carpets, dated décor, and an unpleasant musty smell that gave a poor first impression. Our room was lovely, with a beautiful view that made our stay even more special. The hotel itself is set in a stunning location, with breathtaking views overlooking Robin Hood’s Bay.
