"This is my first bad review ever. I booked this property for myself for 5 nights and 2 other rooms for friends to join me for 2 nights. I planned the whole weekend around the property. I booked dinner at the Michellin Star restaurant for us, afternoon tea, a pool day and three massages for myself and three friends. 8 days before I was due to arrive, they cancelled my room. "Really nice hotel. Comfy bed. Didn’t use but the gym and swimming pool looked great. Breakfast was lovely - and Julie (one of the team clearing away breakfasts) is a superstar. She was incredibly helpful and friendly all whilst working like a demon (a real asset to the hotel!)"

"While we could overlook that the hotel was a little tired, staff were excellent, I was disappointed around the transparency about the pool rules and access for kids. Described as family friendly kids were limited to very restricted hours and space in the pool and unable to use the outdoor pool area and required to use the disabled toilet as a change room. It gave the impression that kids were a hinderance to the target, adult market of the spa. We booked the hotel especially because of the pool....

"Flawless experience from start to finish! Check-In was easy, smooth and welcoming. Room was clean, fresh and well laid out with everything needed including an Iron and board! Breakfast had an exceptional range of options from traditional full English, continental and fruit as well as pancakes. Check out was just as great and staff were super nice as we left"

"Nice, old classy place, well kept with up to date furniture and a mini frig stocked with free snacks and drinks, but the advertised free self-parking is only in the street, which fills up quickly. They have a small front yard where a few vehicles can park after checking in for a cost of ten (10) British pounds."

"Super clean and cosy room. It was ready upon arrival and staff was very helpful in explaining the property and pub / restaurant area. Room does not have AC but had a fan and brought another upon request, as well as blackout curtains. (For those traveling from US, not many pubs and older dwellings have AC like we do in the states). We arrived when it was above 30c) We had great food during our stay and were able to enjoy long hikes in the park and super convenient spot to our friends I the area."
