Plenty of pillows with the option of firm and soft, duvet is a little small for the bed and the one on the sofa bed was also too small if 2 sharing, so you may need to request extra ones. "A really large bed and tv with plenty of choice . Blackout blinds and an extra fan to combat the hot weather .No real room service though and no on site staff to chat with, although plenty of info of who to contact for any issues . I found the room door lock fiddly at first but then realised that you have to run your fingers all over it to activate it and light it up. Once that happens then enter your code and you are in . "As a place to stay it was okay. There was no restaurant as it is being renovated, luckily there was a good Indian restaurant virtually opposite. Parking is £3 per 24 hours unless included in your booking. Breakfast was okay but mainly carbs. Would I stay there again probably not"

"I keep telling myself it’s cheap and cheerful, and it is to some degree.. but it has a 4* sign as you drive in, and this just isn’t the case. Rooms are run down and have needed upgrading for years. The swimming pool has been “ under maintenance” on the 3 occasions I have stayed over the years, so I just question whether it is ever open. The carpets needed hoovering in the hallways and our room. "The room and bathroom smelt very strongly of cigarettes. We could not have a shower as the hot water made the smell even stronger. There was also food on the carpet from previous guest so appeared the room had not been cleaned properly. Wallpaper was peeling off next to the bed. Had we of been staying any longer than one night then we have changed hotels. The pictures online are definitely outdated."

"Stayed in an annexe room that was a good size, comfortable double bed with lovely soft pillows. Good sized TV. A lot of noisy doors from nearby rooms as walls appear to be the egg box type. Many strange marks on the carpet in the room. Bathroom was old fashioned with a poor quality shower. Breakfast wasn’t the best, fruit and cereals with freshly prepared hot food. "Bathroom had a good shower Worse thing about this hotel was the let down on the key card wouldn’t open door every time we went out If had been by myself I would have been very very worried we tried everything one lady from reception brought up a machine to try it BUT next morning back to square one. I was disappointed as it was for me to try this hotel for me to come by myself when I come back to Barnsley to visit my family"

"Not ideal to stop and rest with children or young ones as place i dirty with bad odour from carpets. Also was noise from pub garden as we tried to rest/sleep. There was a fan on the side bed which was not wiped or cleaned. Shower was so stiff to turn off. I asked a member of staff to help and off he went back telling us he would bring wd40 till we checked out there was nothing resolved."
