"Great location minutes away from cafés, pubs and eateries. Funicular virtually next door. Lovely old hotel, clean and full of character though indeed of a little tlc. We were made very welcome and our rooms were upgraded at no extra cost with amazing views across the valley. Very dog friendly and would definitely stay there again. Thank you. "

Staff very helpful & friendly. The location is perfect for a 10 minute walk into Barnstaple town centre along the promenade by the river. An excellent stay, shame it was only for one night. Highly recommend."

"Lovely stay for 1 week in August with our spaniel, communication great with operator and staff very friendly. The site was clean, tidy and generally well maintained, the only point to note is the part built wing of the development 'under construction' which appears to have been in its current unfinished state for sometime; although unsightly and the only downside to the acomodation, this definitely did not spoil our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. "
