"We unfortunately stayed for just one night on Thursday, 23 October 2025, on our way back to Joburg, but it was a truly perfect experience, just as we had hoped. The view was absolutely stunning, and the location is beautiful, safe, and enveloped by a lovely forest. We were overjoyed to receive an upgraded room for our special occasion, celebrating my partner’s 64th birthday, which made our stay even more memorable. "Arrived on Friday afternoon and received excellent reception from the front desk.there was no toilet spray or any odour controlling mechanism in the bathroom room.left the room at 5am and came back at 12:30 pm.the room was cleaned but without towels,they were only replaced around 13:00.had an issue the aircon that sounded like a petrol fuelled generator which was attended to immediately."

"This beautiful hotel is very grand and is still very classy. It is showing its age however, but we still had a wonderful experience, with my husband celebrating his birthday at dinner where the staff made his night very special. The staff are excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. "

"With out doubt one of the best holidays ever. Fantastic place, people and service. Could not fault anything. If you want a South African Experience then Mafigeni is the place. So many things to do and see in the immediate area including Kruger National Park. Self drive or guided if it's you first time you will not be dissapointed. "The place is comfortable, linen clean, not a single noise only nature and birds, rooms clean and big and smelling fresh, room service perfect, very friendly staff and willing to help all the time, breakfast perfectly prepared, all in all it was good. "

"It is a very friendly environment but not worth what I paid. The triple room is like an old granny house, the linen not even the right sizes for the beds, towels not that clean, no bathfoams etc sachet, wardrobe has only 4 hangers, no drinking water supplied, no glasses. Just cups, tea/coffee sachet supplied with very cheap plastic spoons. It was too cold and the aircon was disfuctioning, No enough plugs for cellphone chargers and other electronics. I had to go buy two pin plugs to able to...

"We loved our stay at Kings Waldon. We wish Marike and Hannes all the best in all their endeavors. Walter and team were helpful and friendly. The views are magnificent, the gardens quite stunning. Our room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and dinners were good too. "

"The only reason I'm giving this place 4* is because the road leading down is gravel and not bery well maintained. The cabin itself is a paradise! The pond is beautiful, the ducks friendly, and the fast moving creek sounds lull you to sleep. I was very pleasantly surprised at how stocked the kitchen was with cooking supplies. The staff was friendly and the whole property is well maintained. "

"There was a bath without a screen instead of a shower. A large dead cockroach in the bathroom. Lights outside the bedroom window that were not switched off. Naked, exposed wiring where the switch for the bedside lamp should be ( I could have electrocuted myself reaching for the switch at night!). Very noisy water pipes from 3am. The bed was clean and comfortable but the roach had spoiled it all."
