excellent hotel with great style and services

This little gem is hiding behind the songtsam temple, though it's a bit hard to find even with the GPS. The small town in front of the hotel is undergoing heavy constructions. We arrived there with no hot water and got a free upgrade a suite. Room is huge but not as cozy as the smaller one. They even set up the fireplace to get the room warmed up for us everyday. Food is excellent but too bad we missed the spa. Overall an excellent hotel where you can relax and find you inner peace, definitely will visit again.

酒店就在松赞林寺背后，小村子周边环境清净，目前不足的是小村子在修路，开车前往不太好找，也不好开。酒店的服务没得说，相当不错，设计风格也很有特色。住了两晚，印象深刻。

Fabulous cultural get-away, done perfectly!!

It was a return visit to this exotic city, where we were meeting the parents of our Chinese foreign exchange student. We are good friends for years. They stayed in the "sister hotel" close by. The entire hotel staff and all the facilities are at the 5-Star level. We will definitely return.

Outstanding oasis.

Absolutely outstanding service from Patrick and his whole team. Great attention to authentic detail in the design of the hotel and the menus, but it was the uniformly excellent service from all the staff that made this hotel stand out.

Wonderful Stay

Marvelous resort that I didnt want to get out of. A good view of the beautiful Songtsam Temple, which the hotel provides a free buggy ride to. In the evening, staff come to start the fireplace and deliver Ginger Tea. Heartwarming value adds that made our day.

Highly recommended for family trips

I would love to give a 5+ rating for this resort. It's situated inside the Songtsam (ie the main religious site) area so the tranquility and freshness of the air has no rival. Admittedly it's too far away from the city centre so it's not too possible to go out for food, but this is compensated by the breakfast and Zang cuisine offered by the hotel restaurant at a reasonable price. The hotel arranges shuttle to the main tourist sites so it saves you much trouble if you are going as a family - otherwise you will have to hire your own driver-guide as the main sights in Shangri-la are sparsely situated.

非常值得住一二晚的酒店。如果去香格里拉，强烈建议去往，酒店明天早上九点半有导游带去颂赞。提供单日行程，当然是星级酒店价格。

總體還可以

在香格里拉還算是很好的客棧，只是入住三天總是忘記打掃房間這個感到有點不可思議，其他都很好尤其是前台服務人員的熱情服務還有酒店準備的供氧機的使用都讓人感到好貼心。晚上的篝火晚會由服務人員編演的歌曲和舞蹈實在是不敢恭維 懇請提高表演技能啦

Wonderful Tibetan Retreat

Beautiful and authentic Tibetan Retreat located just behind the famous Songzalin Monasetry. Very quiet and peaceful. However, it is about 15 min away from the main town so a little inconvenient unless you have a driver. Other than that, a perfect getaway to relax.

酒店非常优美安静，环境一流！前面有广阔的草坪和散落的几只牦牛，远处松赞林寺的背景更使得整个酒店融合现代和臧族文化与一体。酒店的服务非常人性化，朴实。非常喜欢这个酒店。唯一不足的是酒店附近没有什么饭店，但酒店自己的餐厅价格还能接受。也正因为此，酒店才有世外桃源的感觉。

A lovely and cozy experience with Songtsam Retreat

We stayed for 3 nights in late May 2013. My husband and I enjoyed it so much.This is a lovely hotel with nice art pieces in the room, resturants and lobby to admire. Staff were really helpful. Food at the resturant were great as well. It was also just walking distance to the famous temple. One evening, we had some spare time and the hotel staff recommended that we go to the small mountain behind the hotel. We had so much fun there admiring beautiful flowers that just bloomed and watching cows and lambs making their way home.....it was alot of fun. I will recommend this hotel anytime to anyone visitng Shangri-la.

Luxury in Shangri-la

Our room was a very large Junior Suite with panoramic views of the monastery and beyond, king bed on a raised platform, a large wooden tub, separate shower wet room and separate toilet. The open plan design had a (hard) sofa and comfortable armchair and curiously since the hotel is only a couple of years old, the TV was not flat-screen. We felt very pampered but surprised when we read the note in the room that in order to use the wood burning fire, a selling feature of the Junior suite, we were required to pay for the firewood! We mentioned our dissatisfaction in being charged for the firewood and the cost was waived and maid service sent to our room to light the fire each of our 3 night stay. Breakfast was not included in our rate but was reasonably priced and generous. We had dinner each night in the hotel's restaurant as it was too cold to venture further. The food was excellent although more expensive than we had been paying in restaurants. The General Manager was very attentive and dedicated to helping the local Tibetan community. Nothing comes without a price and we found this to be the case at Songtsam Retreat. The hotel consists of separate buildings which do not have direct access to the main reception and restaurant areas. The porter delivers you and your luggage to your room but to go to dinner you must venture out in the exceedingly chilly night and climb many stairs at high altitude to return to your room. The staff are local Tibetan impeccably trained.

Great Hotel in amazing location

If you don't mind being out of town but surrounded by amazing scenery then this hotel is for you. Large beautiful rooms and good food. Service at the front desk can be a bit slow but more a reflection on the local way of life than bad service. Try the spa, it's an amazing experience.

Magnifique complexe hotellier

Ouvert en 2009, cet hôtel offre de magnifique suites à la décoration raffinée. Le personnel est tibétain, d'une extrême gentillesse et la direction de l'établissement française nous a réservé un accueil exceptionnel. Excellent restaurant cuisine locale et occidentale avec des produits frais de saison, un spa avec un choix de massages traditionnels de grande qualité; Une adresse à recommander sans hésiter, notre meilleure adresse en Chine. La vue est très belle et la proximité du monastère de Songzanlin ajoute encore à la magie du lieu.

un hotel che non si dimentica;

Un hotel molto accogliente dove si nota l'anima francese nella gestione molto cordiale ed attenta seppur discreta. Location bellissima per visitare il Monastero, a qualche km dal centro città, ma non é negaivo. Ottimo il ristorante ed a prezzi giusti. Un Hotel che non si dimentica, senzaltro uno dei migliori fatti in cina.

All things are very good. It is highly recommended. Personally, I would like the hotel to have one or two more different restaurants. I think, I would have hesitation to stay there longer, i.e. more than 3 days, if I have to eat the same food everyday.

location very near to the temple within walking distance 20 minutes through the village nearby. Entering to the temple is free during your stay in the hotel.Breakfast is a little bit expensive and the food is average. Only buffet breakfast, no other choice. staffs are very helpful

wonderful stay

execellent service. The staffs there were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is inside the temple area on top of the mountain so if you stay at the hotel you don't have to pay RMB 85 entry ticket to the temple. The food in their tibet restaurant was pretty good and the price was quite reasonable as well. Overall, a very nice stay at the hotel.
