A really excellent location right on the beach. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed was very comfortable too. Breakfast was good although if you aren't there at the beginning they don't replenish fruit and croissants which is not ideal as they advertise breakfast as being from 8-10. By 9 there were no croissants. The outside are is attractive although I wasn't sure why there were two layers of railings between this and the beach. The hotel could have done with a bit of updating and not all the staff seemed to be very helpful or friendly.

Historical hotel with a very good bar. Faces the sea and the room we had was large and really stylish. I would stay here again without doubt. Lovely breakfast this morning too. Staff really welcoming

Spacious Room, Tasty Breakfast

Spacious rooms with comfortable bed. Large fluffy towels in a good sized bathroom with a shower with plenty of power. Fantastic tasty breakfast with plenty of choice. Definitely value for money in a lovely location.

The Royal Hotel is superb

A beautiful and understated hotel on Deal beach with a lovely bar, lots of history, clean, friendly staff, right near the pier & dog friendly. Superb place and I'll be returning for sure.

Excellent location for the town and seafront. It’s an old building so has a lot of history/character, but can be a bit creaky … Adjacent road traffic can be noisy from time to time. Staff attentive, both breakfast and dinner tasty and offer decent choice and value

We stayed one night in a family room, which was much nicer than the photos! Very spacious with comfy beds and a modern bathroom. It was sufficiently clean and the tea/coffee station was well stocked. One little niggle is that the room is rather warm so the duvets were a bit heavy for summer, but we managed. We would absolutely return!

Highly recommended.

Really lovely, friendly hotel with excellent breakfast. Room was large and clean. Could not fault it. Only thing to know is that the nearby parking is pay-parking provided by the council, but that isn't the hotel's fault. Staff were particularly welcoming, exactly what you need when you have been travelling for a long time.

Lovely place

The hotel is lovely . The room we booked was large , very clean and overlooked the sea . Excellent rooms . But the service was less than impressive . The lady who served us at breakfast was friendly , but rather curt . Gave us the feeling she didn’t want us there and so breakfast was normally very rushed - eat and run !

Lovely staff, very dated.

The hotel looks fantastic and is in a great location. Staff were great too. However, I booked a twin room and ended up with 1 single bed? Too tired after a 6 hour drive to argue so left until returning. Very dated inside, would not recommend unless you're desperate.
