"Great stay however the rooms were not overly clean. It seems housecleaning need to rush to get rooms ready and do a basic wipe over, but it is not really to the standard expected of a 4star hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and grounds and common areas were very nice. Food a little disappointing (plates hot but breakfast not). With some attention to detail this property would be really good 😊"

"The staff, especially Reception and a young blonde-haired lady who had only been there about 3 weeks were exceptional. Having the bar & the restaurant on the top floor is a bit odd, but it is comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very poor as was the quality of the wine. The gentleman acting as Maitre was brusque, untidy and unwelcoming. We booked our table for 7 and were prompt. But he wanted us to have courses in rapid succession. "Unwashed cup in the room and empty shampoo dispencer. Pool closed for this "spa weakend." Hotel unable to provide a cooked breakfast and reluctant to offer a rebate. Premises dirty and staff surly. Bar service poor and prolonged delays in the dining room in spite of pre-ordered food. Far from the expected standard of a 4star establishment"

"A lovely welcome by the reception staff. No problems with the room and had a good breakfast. The only very small thing I noticed was some not very clean public areas, such as the stairs and the outside windows in the staircase (very dirty). Hokwever, they did not affect our stay. Slightly disappointed that we had to pay for hotel car parking. Very central location, handy for the city centre and easy to navigate to."

"Beautiful property in a beautiful village. Very large beer garden, large bathroom with a bath (instead of a standard shower). They provided a fan to partially compensate for lack of A/C (during a record breaking heatwave), but wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in South Yorkshire. Easy FREE parking."

"On our return to the hotel this time we were greeted with a warm welcome from Wellington the night receptionist who depite our late arrival was very helpful. "This was our second stay there, on the first stay had no complaints at all. This time not so good Not really made to feel welcome and some of the staff were not friendly at all. The bedroom was like a sauna, unable to open window properly, and only one fan which didn’t do much at all, so no sleep for 3 nights. ( No aircon) Bars Restaurant all very nice but let down at breakfast by the dirty cups, jugs and teapots. We don’t go away very often and was very disappointed this time, hence won’t be...

"3 couples stayed after a day at the Races, we booked it for my brothers Birthday, and what a treat it was to stay at this very glamorous Hotel, Art Deco at it’s very best is here👍Starting a reception, a speedy check in, and up to our Rooms with a lovely view, they were spacious, spotlessly clean and included everything you needed. The Bar tender were polite and friendly and know their job well. Breakfast was a lavish feast, made even better by the bubbly Barbara, who tended us well with a smile...

"Hotel is a great price and is a little tired but comfortable and you have what you need for a stop over. Unfortunately chef took ill so couldn’t eat there but menu looked good. Instead they recommended the Dam Inn which was amazing food!"
