I had an excellent stay, staff at the reception and restaurant are amazing. Breakfast prefect. Gym opens early which is great. Rooms are comfortable and spacious but now looking a bit old. Rooms need to be renovated with a new modern look. The bathroom has a step that can be dangerous. Looking forward to my next visit.

Upgraded my room to suite at very low price - very nice. The hotel is old and things starts to look old too. Been here many times and always enjoyed, because it's easy access to the area, friendly staff, good cleaning and the gym. But the gym is getting worn. Theres a pool, but its useless, because one has to go through the Gym to get there instead just out the hotel backdoor like it used to be. It means registration and walking through the reception, parking area and gym in slippers and shorts - and if you forget anything, then its back again. No service at the pool either necause theres no access for hotel staff. So no pool at the hotel, but next to it and thus it should be written so. Coming back - not sure this time.

Having all facilities in one place. The check in time isn't favorable especially when you only have access to early flights. Improve on making sure everything is available in the room. Its absurd that one has to wait till noon to check-in, then when you get to, you have to follow up to get toiletries and still remind them eveyday to avail what was depleted.

The property is ok but for what looks like a luxury hotel to charge extra for two people in one room is not good business. I can understand smaller hotels that get less revenue to charge this but this place portrays itself as luxurious. In reality there were many flies in the dining area, I believe there were mosquitos in the room and bed as I was itchy all night and the pool and amenities were average at best. There are better places in Masaki to stay in my opinion.

The best thing one can say about the Colosseum as a hotel is it is reasonably priced. After that, its all downhill. I booked a specific kind of room at extra cost. I was given another, had to go back, show the booking, have it changed. My second morning there, they ran out of coffee at breakfast (and I was among the first there). Can you imagine? No coffee? The furnishings are ok, but old. Staff seem confused, but its a language issue. Tanzania is a swahili speaking country, which I respect. However, in a hotel where travelers come from a wide range of places, staff should be able to speak basic English. I asked for a fork and staff didn't understand me. I had to call the reception and ask for it from there.....I had a corner room on the first floor. I could hear the noise from the restaurant below and the shisha bar (until 1 am). From the room, you can see directly into the gym (and they can see directly into the room). Not great! I won't be back. Its convenience to my office doesn't compensate for poor service.

This is my favorite hotel to stay in Dar. It is updated, has amazingly powerful, hot showers, great breakfast and a kind staff. Guests of the hotel can use the gym for free which offers incredible facilities and has a steam room and sauna.
