"The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful. Dining in all three restaurants was superb. We would definitely go back. The Falconry experience was amazing. Just be aware it is not run by the hotel but it is on or adjacent to the grounds. A two minute walk from the lobby."

"Nicely decorated hotel, although our room and some other areas were very tired and in need of some TLC. The staff were pleasant although weren't always able to help with our queries. The breakfast room (Braid Suite) was uncomfortably hot, we ended up propping the window open using a mug for some fresh air! The location was lovely and easy to get to and from the town centre. However not sure it was worth what we paid £200/night. "

I wasn't expecting (or needing) anything fancy but there were some basics that I thought could be better: wifi was in a "dead zone" in our first room so we asked for a reassignment of rooms; room and hallways were quite warm; and small details such as a broken fridge door highlighted that some upkeep was needed. "Everything was clean. I loved my room. It’s not the most updated place in the world, but it had its own charm. It’s warm and inviting. The staff was great, and had good suggestions for tours. It’s kind of a pain not having anything nearby. No convenience stores or coffee shops. You have to take a train or Uber. I tried the connected restaurant twice and did not care for it. It’ll do though with nothing else around. Overall, it was a good value and I felt safe and comfortable"

"The Balmoral is a beautiful hotel! Its location is perfect since it’s close to all major attractions. The staff are accommodating and helpful. I’ve stayed in two different rooms and both were lovely and had great views. The restaurant is very good and the high tea in the Palm Court is superb!"
