"Warm recommendation! The room was modern and very clean - it even smelled like chlorite in the bathroom, which to me gave a clean appearance. The location is great. The breakfast selection was basic, varying from continental to English breakfast, but it was alright. Gluten free breakfast was available. Cute hotel!"

Please note there’s no check-in after 10p though so plan accordingly. The food was top notch and the location is central to a lot of great spots in the Highlands. "The Lovat at Loch Ness is a charming and stylish lakeside hotel. The property has two lovely lounges, even a grand piano, and is equipped with an elevator — a thoughtful touch. Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight: besides the classic Highland Breakfast, we tried the Kedgeree (smoked haddock with curried rice and poached egg), which was absolutely delicious and a wonderful Scottish surprise. The hotel’s location in Fort Augustus adds to the experience....
