Other than a slow service delivery from the kitchen, and lacking some ingredients, this resort is good for quiet relaxation where you don't have to do anything. Even suntanning worked under the shade!!!

Relaxation at its best.

The place is amazing. It is truly a beautiful resort. Kat and Francheska, the bartenders at Luna bar and by the pool, were both great! They made my stay so much more enjoyable as I was traveling alone. I’m really glad I made trip to Sunlight Resort.

The staff was friendly and atttentive. Courtesy drivers were readily available to take you to different parts of the resort, which is spread out across the island. There is a coral reef right off the beach which was great for snorkeling (snorkel gear was included). Kayaks are also included. Parts of the resort are aging and in various levels disrepair, from loose fixtures, crumbling stone steps or doors that don't close properly. The food was fine. I was disappointed to find out one of the cafe's was closed and also the bar touted for its sunset views. We were supplied with ample drinking water to our room though. Its a beautiful property. Perfect for relaxing and quality time with your travel party. If you plan on also going to Coron town, plan on the extra charge. The ferry is not complementary, even though it runs regularly.

I love the privacy of this property!! We received a warm welcome. Staff very courteous, friendly, and respectful. Check-in process relatively easy. Did have issues with phone not working and major concerns with drainage, especially toilet and shower. Lock to the french doors broke and it took them 1 1/2 days to fix. Need a map for guests to facilitate with awareness of amenities. I did love that they had bikes to use in the island!! Understand the challenges of being on a private island but availability of certain food or drink is a real problem that guests, who paid for this somewhat costly resort, should not hear the phrase “not available.” Every effort should be made to stock up on easily accessible items like mint or ube. Grow the mint. It is easy to grow and spreads quickly. Check-out process not easy. Had to go to the lobby for a second time. Unnecessary. People who can afford this resort would not take anything in the room. Frankly, it’s demeaning to guests.

We did not stay in the resort at all due to SETIR poor guest assistance when we tried to seek for help to find a hotel in Coron town as boat transfer was not possible after 5 pm due to delayed ferry arrival at 6:45 pm. SETIR sister hotel in town was fully booked so they couldn’t accommodate us. SETIR staff instructed us to do our own online search for hotels in town, no further assistance from SETIR at all. We felt neglected and abandoned. We are requesting for a refund. Per SETIR they haven’t received any request from Expedia. SETIR is waiting for Expedia to contact them. Per Expedia - After multiple attempts to contact the property on my behalf, they were unable to obtain approval for a waiver. SETIR and Expedia, you both need to communicate and coordinate. Thank you.

I loved our overwater bungalow villa. The scenery was amazing. Only negative on this trip was that we went during typhoon season and a typhoon had access to and from the island cut off, so we were unable to do our Coron island tour.

Avoid

The resort is an a sad state. The island is very beautiful, but essencially everything else was disappointing. Villas are outdated and in a poor condition. Staff is unprofessional, they will make you promises that will be never kept. Food quality is very low. Activities are not priced competitivly as they essencially trap you on the island with no access to any other providers (they charge handsomely to dock on the island). Avoid at all cost.

This is one of the nicest developed and poorly operated resort we have visited. The fault is not of the staff but solely the management/ownership. I could go on for hours on every area of this resort for failed oversight of training, maintenance and repair, food and beverage quality. I strongly recommend to not spend what is literally a fortune on a non-inclusive resort in Philippines at Sunlight. Was a new disappointment at every turn.

The resort met our expectations in its beauty, luxury, and service. The setting is stunning with reefs off their beaches accessible by just swimming with a mask and snorkel(free!). It is on an isolated island 40 minute boat ride from Coron town proper. The food is awesome, but not all the restaurants are available everyday. The breakfast buffet(included) is great with enough Pilipino food to keep natives happy! The prices are at luxury levels but reasonable in terms of US dollars. Airport transfers (bus and boat) are not included and you MUST arrange and pay in advance! The correct phone number is 63 286571918. They do not respond via the Expedia messaging option. Get the Viber messaging app. This is the way they communicate throughout the day about restaurant options and reservations, tours, and services. It is essential to prevent frustration about restaurant options.

The property is old and not kept well. Our bedding were dirty with blood stain when we arrived . There were cracks on the walls and floor and bugs and lizard in our rooms. Mind you we had 3 separate family with separate rooms. All same poor condition. The only thing that made this place great are the people the staff are hard working and nice. But, place was bad! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!! The food selection was limited. Each time we order something they come Back saying its no longer available. Also going to places in the property is so inconvenient. Not to mention when I arrived from the airport to the location no one picked me up from the hotel until 2 hours later at the dock. I DO NOT recommend this place!

As an island resort, guests have limited access to island resort facilities/activities at night - gym closes at 7pm - 3 beaches are closed at 6pm - swimming pool closed at 7pm - pool bar follows the swimming pool 7pm closing - in-room TV only have limited saved movies (no cable TV) - 10 restaurants on the island but if one gets pre-booked, guests were not notified ahead of time to allow guest to re-arrange dining schedule (esp if guest craving for certain food type - Filipino, Chinese, Italian, Japanese) TRANSFER TO ISLAND: Istead of dining at the Sunlight Hotel in Coron Town, we had to quickly eat at outside caridenria to make it to the 15mins ferry service departing from Coron town, (in-house resto cannot quickly cook a food), but then got booted out at last minute of the ferry service from Coron town proper and had to wait for another hour for the ferry coming from the island. Wasted our time and all you get is "Sorry".

We absolutely loved the efficiency and sensitivity of the staff. Although there were other tourists there, the staff made us feel like it was just my wife and I. It was incredible the quality of everything there. We would totally come again and are recommending it to others. Loved it!

Unhappy with customer service.

The resort was a very pleasant stay, However, their sister hotel in Coron town is a complete opposite. The customer service sucks, to say the least. No one answers the phone and the customer service, hotel and the resorts staffs don't communicate well. The mgr (Meds, I believe is he name )at the coron hotel that guests needs to stay awaiting transport to the resort is useless and incompetent. She hid in her office avoiding guest complains. The resort mgr at the resort, is a lot better and very accommodating. They made us feel they really care about our stay. The food section is okay, staffs are accommodating but need some improvement on the service and food selection. Overall, the stay is pleasant and relaxing, too bad the Coron Hotel ruin it for us.
