Overnight stay in Cuenca

We stayed in a family room for 1 night. The hotel is in a very good location. To the north the area is a bit more dodgy but to the south it’s close to the Central Park and the area is better.

The staff behaved very well, great variety of food, clean hotel, and one of the staff members named Castillo was very helpful, polite, and always willing to give a hand. I do suggest in the future to have a hair dryer and iron in the room, please. Thank you!

The hotel was acceptable and the staff helpful. The breakfast was good. However, we had asked for a twin room and they gave us a room with one double and two twin beds. It was very crowded and not very restful. Also there was hot water in the shower only and not all the time. Property definitely needs some upkeep.

How can you charge more to your “guest” lunch than regular customer. It’s supposed to offer guest the chance to consume more inside your place rather than outside! Meal for guests was $7 and regular customer $5 ?? Not big difference but it counts.

Nice place, very comfy

The check-in was at 14:00, but they let us to leave our luggage before. The room was nice and comfy and the breakfast delicious. We were late for going to the terminal and we couldn't find a taxi and they helped us with their car.

A run down old hotel. Missing things like towels, tv remote, bed side lights. Shower get bathroom floor wet. automatic lights flooded my room with light. No windows to outside. The olace appears to be run by very young, inexperienced people without a lot of hospitality training. I will not be returning.

The one light in the room. for four was extremely dim like a 40 watt bulb it was horribly dark and the first week it was hard to get our room cleaned you have to leave your key we came back after 2pm on several occasions and the beds were not made or room cleaned the area is very convenient and there are tons of options for food Cuenca is beautiful and most establishments are not like this the staff are friendly but the service is bad I even had to go buy a plunger because they didn’t have one they do now I left it but also Expedia is to blame for not vetting the location

Room I paid for was given to someone else. Then they wanted to put me in a smaller room that I did not pay for and not give me a refund for the difference. We went to see the room and it smelled horrible like bleach. I chose not to stay there and wanted a refund which I did not get. The man at the front desk was also sick coughing and sneezing all over the place . It was such a bad experience would not recommend this place to anyone.

Decent hotel, meh breakfast, slow(!) WiFi, noise

Good sized room. Friendly reception. Good shower and hot water. Clean and reasonably comfortable. The WiFi is pre-jurassic speed with tendencies to fall out for shorter periods. The TV had 20 channels on them, all local TV, bad quality signal. The breakfast was different every day. Half service, you had to grab coffee, cutlery and fruits/juice from the bar - which was fine enough. The plate you received every day was a hot meal. Two of the days we did not eat the breakfast. Hot potatoes and chicken on bones at breakfast was not our cup of tea. Coffee was decent, and available during the day aswell. There does not seem to be any regulations regarding noise in the hotel. A couple had their children with them in the room, let them out to run and scream hysterically in the hallways after 12pm. No personal said anything to the parents, who did not understand that their children should not scream and run around the hotel at night. The location of the hotel is good, and the price is somewhat fair - but the things above have to be considered when choosing this hotel.

En general la experiencia fué buena con algunas excepciones. El hotel está ubicado relativamente cerca de todo ( tiendas, restaurantes, supermercados, tranvia, parques) en el centro histórico. Lo Bueno: Las camas estaban suaves y confortables. El personal durante nuestra estadía fué amable y la señora de la limpieza hizo un buen trabajo, no nos faltó lo necesario. Lo Malo: Si se necesita PARQUEO no lo recomiendo ya que no tienen, te mandan a un parqueadero público que te cobra por la noche y también por cada hora. ( En la aplicación No es claro y puedes asumir que si tienen parqueo,) en nuestro caso tuvimos que dejar el vehículo donde un familiar de otra manera nos hubiera salido demasiado costoso. La ducha es mediocre y mal diseñada ya que salpica el agua y moja todo el baño... ( Es un pero que deberian solucionar dando más presión de agua y colocando una cortina).

La atención de la chica ayudante más joven era terrible no recibía saludos ni respondía el gracias y sólo te observa con mala cara y te atendía en las mañanas en la cafetería con un aburrimiento y enojo que contagiaba las vibras y al verte entrar al hotel en vez de recibirte amablemente te miraba con una cara de que vayas en de aquí !! Muy desagradable esa actitud.
