"As another review said: don’t like the name turn you away. It was an overall great experience. When we checked in the owner was very welcoming and nice, comfy beds (pillows aren’t the best), very clean but in general the hotel is slightly outdated and things need updated but it comes with time. It was very quite, not far from gas station and other accommodation’s- we traveled to galena after staying and it was a quick trip there. I would stay again! "

"Lovely historic bed and breakfast. It has a contactless check in. It is very quiet and private. Wonderful breakfast featuring mushrooms foraged on the property. There's a one lane driveway, so you need to be a little cautious. "
"We really enjoyed the whole vibe. The bar was a bit pricey, but has an amazing feel. It served us very well as a home base in our stay in Galena, and had us within short drives to all the places we wanted to visit. Potosi, Dubuque, Effegy Mounds and of course downtown Galena. "
