"The staff were not overly helpful. I asked someone at the front desk to call me a taxi and they said they couldn’t so they gave me the number. When I said I couldn’t call because of the international number they seemed annoyed. I tried to get lunch one day and they told me the chef wouldn’t be in for another hour despite it being within the lunch hours they posted. The rooms were also very outdated."

"Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu"

"An amazing hotel .We have stayed here before and everything about the hotel is amazing. I used the swimming pool,the jacuzzi,had breakfast which was a help yourself full English,cereals,fruit ,yoghurt toast. The bar was reasonably priced and the staff where outstanding. May stay again in the future for 3rd time ."

"Selected Wheatsheaf based on location travelling from Scotland to South Coast. We're told at reception that the room was up 2 flight of stairs but it would be worth it, Walking into room 12 our breath was taken away, it was definitely worth the climb. Dinner that evening and breakfast next morning we're excellent. Will definitely be back. Jim and Lorna"

"Absolutely amazing stay at the Rookery Hotel. Staff all went above and beyond. Truly exceptional Hotel set in the most amazing grounds. It was my partners birthday and they really went out of there way to make him feel special. The restaurant was beautiful and the food created by some very talented chefs was delicious. "Stayed over in a double room , room was very tired looking and stains on walls. Windows only opened 2 inches and so resulted in very hot room. Bed was uncomfortable. Used spa facilities which were disappointing, steam room was not working and spa was busy with children despite having designated family swim times. Restaurant was very over priced. Having stayed in numerous spa hotels, expected a better standard here but was disappointing"
