"Different kind of stay- think upmarket Airbnb but as a hotel. No staff on site- (although there was when we checked in as the house keeper and the owner appeared to be doing some maintenance). So all done by email- you get a code to access the doors. Our room was ready at 1pm- so it's an early check in which is good. Room was tidy and clean. "We could not have chosen a better hotel. Kat and her team are amazing. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Despite this being a pub the room was lovely and quiet. Food was delicious with lots of options. Breakfast was out of this world excellent. Location couldn't be better as it is right opposite the railway station. All in all a great experience. "The hotel could benefit from some modernisation, as parts of it are looking a little dated. My main concern was the location of Room 227. It was a very long walk from reception and quite difficult to reach. Fortunately, I wasn’t travelling with a suitcase; otherwise, getting to the room would have been much more difficult. Better signage or assistance with luggage would have been appreciated."

"The good: We were surprised by how quiet it was. There are bars, shops and the seafront very close by but as they are not right on that street, even on a summer Saturday evening it was peaceful. "We arrived at 6:30pm and were told there was not a room for us. The staff were unable to help and unwilling to provide more information on who owns the hotel. I strongly suspect the hotel does not comply with heath and safety rules. We received a refund from Expedia, but I would not have any confidence in receiving a refund directly from the hotel.
