Not 5 star.
This hotel seems very worn. It is not a 5 start hotel. Would rate it an average 3 star hotel in South Asia.

Great stay
Stayed here for a week as a solo traveller. Good location. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The room I had overlooked the sea and had floor to ceiling windows. It was spotlessly clean. The cleaning staff were thorough. Plenty of towels, toiletries , water etc. I ate in the main buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The choice was excellent, the food displays were beautiful and all of the staff were kind and helpful. The coffee shop on the ground floor served good coffee and snacks. All of the staff were friendly, efficient and kind. Highly recommend this hotel

The property is located in a pretty grubby area of Colombo (but, in truth, most of Colombo is grubby. Poverty is not pretty) The hotel itself, although reasonably new is tired and worn and needs maintenance. (Not terrible but not 5 star) The staff are very friendly and always smiling/chatty. That said, service is slow and erratic. Dining is not great (Cold roast which was supposed to be hot as an example). The best patisserie in the lobby. Lovely cakes and patisseries. You won't find a good cappuccino though. Nice enough rooftop pool but again, not 5 star quality.

Strange room, the showerroom side does not have door, so it's cold when you shower, the shower heat is not stable, air-conditioning for room not stable.

Would I stay here again? You bet.
Mövenpick stay was good. Hotel is efficient and clean. Phone system was not working, which made it difficult to contact front desk or room service for basic requests. Hotel did address this by providing WhatsApp contact information, but the connection was poor and I struggled to contact staff to make requests. On a few occasions, I had to just go down to the lobby to ask for water or place a room service order. Not ideal, but I assume this was a temporary issue. I would stay here again, the rooms are very large, the views are amazing, and the restaurants are really really good (so good I almost didn't want to dine anywhere else in Colombo!).

Best hotel in Colombo!
The service from all the staff, cleanliness of hotel, quality of the food, the room sizes was all excellent. Great location, amazing infinity pool and gym. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the staff were extremely helpful and very attentive. Tharun helped me alot to arrange my drivers each day also. Excellent friendly hotel and would 100% recomend to anyone looking to stay in Colombo.

The hotel & room were lovely, but it felt more like a business hotel than one for leisure. The foyer was very small and mostly taken up by a small cafe / ice cream parlour. We visited a lot of other hotels in the area and ours was the smallest foyer by far! The staff were very nice and the rooftop pool / bar great, with great views all around the hotel. The supermarket across the road is not what you would expect, but an adventure anyway!

部屋はモダンラグジュアリーな内装で好みが分かれそうですがゴージャスな雰囲気が好みの方にはオススメ。新しいホテルなので設備が整っており快適です。ショッピングセンターやスーパーも隣接していて便利でした。セキュリティもしっかりしており、スタッフも親切です

Fantastisk hotell i hjertet av Colombo!
Hotellet var et fantastisk nytt hotell med utmerket service. Gratis transport tur retur casino, god mat, trivelig resepsjonsområde og hjelpsomme ansatte. Det eneste vi hadde å sette fingeren på, var litt treg service når vi bestilte mat ved bassenget, samt at solstolene nok kunne oppgraderes litt. Dette viderebragte vi til ledelsen, som lovet å ta grep. Alt i alt et MEGET positivt opphold.
