10/10 Excellent
"Only stayed the night on a road trip through Flagstaff. If we ever find ourselves in Flagstaff again we'll certainly stay here. We loved the layout of the facility and the room was great. Clean and spacious room with plenty of bathroom counter space to spread out."

Hotel Monte Vista

Hotel Monte Vista

10/10 Excellent
"If you’re staying in downtown Flagstaff, the Monte Vista Hotel is hard to beat. Of course, you can stay in one of those modern, sterile hotels that has everything but no real character. The Monte Vista has charm, history, and personality, and you’re right in the middle of downtown. We visited in late July, and downtown Flagstaff was energetic, crowded, and mostly filled with college students and families. It felt lively, fun, and safe, with great restaurants, a variety of food, and fun little shops that give it that classic college-town atmosphere. Parking can be a challenge. The hotel was built in the early 1900s, long before people had cars, so there are only a limited number of spaces behind the building. If you don’t get one of those, finding street parking can be difficult. There is city parking nearby, but you may have to walk a little. One important thing to know: because of the hotel’s age and historic design, not every room has a private bathroom. Some rooms share bathrooms located down the hall. Fortunately, I specifically chose a room with a bathroom, and I strongly recommend doing the same unless you’re comfortable walking down the hallway in the middle of the night! Despite that, we really enjoyed our stay. The Monte Vista is not a modern cookie-cutter hotel, and that’s exactly what makes it special. If you want history, character, and the experience of staying right in the heart of downtown Flagstaff, I would definitely recommend it."
