Grand Hotel de l'Abbaye

"The Abbaye hotel is a very special historical building. Great views of the Loire from rooms and a lovely outside terrace. Moreover you can simply cross the road and be on the banks of the river! Spotlessly clean rooms. Friendly team. Lovely old furniture everywhere , a character building ( unique) complemented by a modern bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice ( cold meats/cheese/yoghurts/fruit/pastries) many products inc jams/yoghurt from the abbeys in France. The only small disappointment is that the restaurant was unexpectedly closed. However many options in this lovely town closeby. Super stop between UK and the South of France - would be great in the winter with the open fire in the lounge too!"

"Friendly, helpful Staff, we booked less than an hour before we arrived, great welcome, and the Person that checked us in offered a lot of assistance to allow us watch a World Cup Football Match online later in the evening.... Thank you!"

"If you like old, quaint and quirky then this is the place for you. The proximity to the Loire is unbeatable with beautiful views and walks along the riverside. The room we had (402) was huge but accessed by a very tight and steep staircase. An interesting style of furnishings but the bed was comfy with good linen. The bathroom was also spacious but some DIY to the fixings would help. The evening meal is served by restauranteurs who are not involved with the accommodation. The food was tasty and well prepared at a sensible price. Breakfast is plentiful if a little haphazard."

"From the location, just off the ring road roundabout, you would not think of this hotel - and what a treat you would miss. Stepping back in time, a gracious age, soft lighting and yet modern convenience. A lovely, spacious room with style and fun. Lovely staff, so helpful and friendly. A treat to find, a joy to stay."
