Like a Bed and breakfast with farm fresh eggs in our Yurt. Gave a lovely morning tour of the Alpaca farm. Private space with relaxing atmosphere for a family.

Lovely unit, well appointed with everything you could possibly need apart from a coffee plunger or percolator for the grounded coffee provided for your breakfast. Continental breakfast was OK. Farm was lovely and the alpacas so cute but aloof. Would recommend to other travellers.

Check in was easy! Kit greeted us and gave us a tour of the cottage and the farm. The alpacas are about 1 min walk from the cottages. Parking is right in front of the cotttage. The is a little town just about 3mins drive away. with nice food and supermarket. Thank you Kit for hosting us!

A must-do experience for anyone who loves animals!

We spent a night at this farmstay, and I can safely say this was the highlight of our trip. Kit and Sheryl are wonderful hosts, warm and hospitable and making sure our stay is enjoyable. Although Kit and Sheryl were busy preparing for the NZ Agricultural Show, Kit still made the time to take us on his truck to his other alpaca farm where we could feed and interact with his alpacas, and he was also very informative about his alpacas and answered so many of our questions patiently. He has a genuine love for his alpacas and it’s such a joy to see. And yes, the alpacas are utterly adorable, not to mention highly intelligent, and it’s interesting to learn about them. The accommodation is also charming and really comfortable. We had a large, spacious cottage to ourselves, it was clean and well-maintained, and the bed and furnishings were extremely comfortable. There are also beautiful flowers in front of our cottage and in the estate garden. Sheryl brought over breakfast items including bread, eggs, cereal, yoghurt, milk and spreads for us in the evening for our breakfast as well, which I think is such a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we would recommend this farmstay and tour to anyone who loves animals.

Warm hospitality and lovely farm tour with alpacas! Unfortunately the dish washer was out of order and the towels were washed clean but not softened. Overall it was great stay here!

Comfortable accommodation.

Love the decoration. Fully equipped kitchen. If you op for western breakfast is good. Don't take the asian breakfast, you will be given a packet of instant noodle! The lady was very generous and gave me 2 extra slices of bacon. :) The farm tour was interesting, the alpacas are so adorable.

Welcoming hosts

We were made to feel most welcome from Kit and his family. An enjoyable farm tour and tne opportunity to hold near newborn Alpaca and up close to the other animals. We had access to all areas of the farm at anytime which we used for morning and evening strolls. Chickens roamed the gardens which gave a real country experience. This was a genuine Kiwi adventure for our Japanese family. The breakfast included fresh farm eggs. 2 days at Sliverstream Alpaca farm gave us one of our greatest family holiday memories. Highly recommended to visitors to the area.

Comfort and alpacas

Three of us stayed at one of the modern cottages, with well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and two comfortable bedrooms. Breakfast was delicious, and we especially enjoyed alpaca kama Nefertiti and her newborn Ramses. Hosts are friendly and generous with information about their farm.

A good place to stay if you are interested in alpacas. Previous reviewers really liked their interactions with the owners but they were not available during our stay; understandable but disappointing.
