From start to finish our experience was perfect. The resort is has an air of island chic and decadent luxury. From the room, to the resort grounds, all of the facilities are pristine. The real stars however are the staff, in every case made us feel welcomed and valued but also with a friendly energy and with with touches of humor where appropriate. We will return soon.

An absolutely beautiful hotel. Our room was so comfortable with an enormous bathroom and a view out over the ocean. However, there were various aspects which were a little hit and miss meaning I cant rate the hotel excellent overall. The prices are 5 star, particularly the food, and so you expect excellent throughout. Unfortunately there were a couple of meals and instances of poor service which let it down.

Luxurious break

Good stay very nice for adults, decent kids club but not a lot of children at the resort. Boat club has very limited options(weather dependent). Very nice stay if you want to rest.

All accommodations (suites and villa's) have seaview (sunset site) and lay in a lush surrounding. There are no high-rise buildings and it's not a large hotel, but with enough activities. The food (and drinks) are excellent.

True 5* hotel in Bel Ombre

5* hotel , excellent service. Friendly manager and great hospitality. Spa area was super nice, we had a junior suite next to the beach so it was amazing to wake up and just jump in the water. Even the sun beds were reserved for each room. Good for snorkelling, adults only pool was excellent to chill during the day with big sun beds. If we would book again we would stay at least 5-7 nights to enjoy in full the spa treatments and yoga lessons. Took a bit to checkin (we received our room at 1540) but that was ok. Restaurant options are very good for indian, japanese, thai food. Room was amazing with the outdoor shower. Very good internet / wifi coverage , great selection of rums and boat activities Not many hotels close so the beach is kind of empty during the day, mostly guests walking up and down. True paradise

Very good, but could improve

Hotel landscaping is great; scenery is amazing. We had a few issues on arrival to the room, but the hotel staff responded quickly and rectified it. There is not much variety of restaurants, although the food we tried at hotel was very good. There are special culinary nights almost daily. We did not try it as we thought it was very expensive, and that it was more about the rum/alcohol (which we don't drink). A cheaper package could have been handy, with no alcohol included. The hotel is a bit remote, and hence you are at mercy of taxi services and hotel concierge for transport. We though these were very expensive. The concierge service probably needs improvement. The hotel entrance is nice, but the actual reception and waiting area was very plain and could be much better.

Quiet atmosphere but room for improvement

We enjoyed clean beach and quite atmosphere at this hotel. But I think there is still room for improvement in staff and restaurant. Hotel staffs always talk to us `Nihao!` . Even after we told them that we are not chinese at check-in and breakfast, they say 'Nihao!' anywhere and anytime!! We have not had such experiences in top tier hotels like Aman resorts, Raffles, Banyan tree and Four seasons etc... I understand there are many Chinese customers in this hotel. But we cannot bear being treated like this. Therefore, we never recommend other Asian guys to visit this hotel. Also, the number of towels is limited to one or two for each room in this hotel. Generally, hotels located in the beach provide some additional towels in the room. Because residents use them for beach chairs.

Pleasant resort hotel with great food

The hotel is nice and clean, service is good, staff helpful. Trip however was dissappointing which was a shame as was a special occation. Some issues were as follows: Chose pay at hotel option thru expedia because needed credit card to book onward travel flights however hotel rushed to charge card causing great difficulties. The lighting around the resort walkways is spooky rather than romantic and needs to be looked in to. The villa was uncomformtably small and the shower and wc had huge glass windows looking out onto a small private courtyard with no curtain. Anyone from outside could access the courtyard as there was a small gate with latch and no matter how many times we locked it, someone would magically undo the latch and leave the gate open which added to the spooky feel. The villas private pool was a waste because it was to cold to use without risking falling ill so we had to just look at it for a whole week. The hotel insisted it couldnt be warmed to more than 27 which would have been fine if the weather was warmer and it wasnt so windy. Sure its expensive to warm we have our own pool at home but if youre charging so much to guests you cant be so frugal with youre electricity and gas. Pool really should have been 29 or 30 degrees especially if guest requests. Finally beach looked really nice but be aware its quite shelly and rocky and you cant really walk around bare foot.

Leider langes warten nach Ankunft bis zum Bezug des Zimmers, kein Service am Pool, Zimmer war sehr sauber, Strand mäßig, da auch bei Flut die Wassertiefe bis zum Riff gering ist und viele große Steine und Felsen vorhanden sind

Très bel Hôtel. Cependant, un peu loin de l'aéroport et des zones de shopping. Excellent lorsque nous n'avons pas envie de trop bouger et de profiter de l'hôtel, du SPA et des commodités internes

Das Shanti Maurice ist ein sehr schönes Hotel für Ruhesuchende! Obwohl das Hotel ausgebucht war, findet man aufgrund der Weitläufigkeit immer ein ruhiges Plätzchen. Besonders gut hat uns der schöne Poolbereich gefallen. Zudem ist das Frühstücksbuffet ein absolutes Highlight. Wir sind selbst Inhaber eines 4 Sterne Boutique Hotel in Deutschland und verstehen dementsprechend ein wenig von der Hotellerie. Die Mitarbeiter sind allesamt sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Extraordinaire De la chambre, aux services proposés et au personnel tellement attentionnés, gentil et parlant parfaitement français. 5 dagar i paradiset

Vi var 2 vuxna och 2 barn som spenderade dagarna vid poolen eller vid den långa stranden. Vi bodde beachfront och njöt av kunna sitta på terassen och se solen gå ner över havet. Många olika restauranger och olika typer av kök att välja mellan, med något till allas smak från vuxna till 7 månaders baby. Mycket bra barnklubb för vår 5 åring. Stort spa med mycket stort urval av behandlingar, och härlig pool att slappa vid. När vi var där så var det inte fullbokat så det fanns massor av plats vid poolen, i restaurangerna och på stranden.
