Love the Portland Guest House, fantastic location for wide choice of restaurants in the town. The place is always spotless and the staff are so friendly. Entry is now via key box system and breakfast has moved over to Continental only. This still offers a good choice of food and drinks. Defo recommend the place.

Lovely pet friendly place. Tastefully decorated rooms that were spotlessly clean and tidy. The self check in was convenient and worked well. Rooms quite cold at times and vegan options weren't provided at breakfast on at least one of the days, despite me advising the property of my requirements twice in advance of arrival. Excellent location. Parking available £5 per night. Did not go to breakfast which was 7am till 9am (bit early for us) check out was 11am. Friendly host. Comfy bed, warm room. Only down side you could hear the road traffic but that is probably because of the windows and being a period property and double glazed would not go with the look.

A Friendly, Comfortable and Convenient Stay

Our overnight stay at The Portland guest house went very well. We managed to park close by and the check-in process was very speedy. Unfortunately, though, I hadn't taken into consideration that, being a town house, there would be a lot of stairs with an open balustrade which was an issue for my partner who suffers from a form of vertigo but, after explaining the situation to Rachel, Sian dealt with it quickly by putting us in a room on a lower floor. The room was lovely - clean and cosy with quality bed linen. The breakfast was excellent with good quality produce and a comprehensive menu. The Portland is very well located. Just a short walk into the centre of Cheltenham. Would definitely recommend the Portland for a comfortable, convenient and friendly stay
