"location nice, rooms hot in summer. doors in halls of hotel need cleaning/paint, looking scruffy. Staff in restaurant especially during breakfast inefficient. took more then 30m to get yoghurt served.... other tables with 6 guests were served 2 dishes each in meantime. waitress should identify better the customers i.e. business travel single person or 6 guests on holiday. staff at night waiting behind bar, almost felt like they avoided contact with customer. If it weren't for the kind gentleman...

We booked the stay based on how we were spoken over the phone when contacting the propery prior for some details. "Th Leicester Inn is a very old listed property and as such has some wonderful aspects giving it great character. Being old and listed also means that modern features like double glazing and air conditioning are not present and we stayed on one of the hottest days of the year. Our room was very hot but a fan was provided and we were able to have an open window. There is a good size car park at the rear of the Inn. Food and service were superb."

"I stayed here for work purposes being a short 20 minute commute to Grt Baddow. My work colleague and I were made very welcome. The place was spotlessly clean. Had a lovely bar downstairs for drinks and pub snacks and did a fantastic breakfast in the morning.. I would recommend the full English although there were alternatives, all in all I had a very good stay. I would definitely return to the Oakland if I was working in the area.."
