"The hosts, Andy and Ann are very friendly and approachable and ready to sort out any issues. I enjoyed the full English breakfast every morning which was cooked to order and a self service area for tea, coffee, toast etc. Since my last visit a couple of years ago the Wi-Fi has been much improved and the small TV has been replaced with a 40" smart TV.
The grounds are always well kept.
The only downside was using Expedia for the first time. They told me my room was booked but Saltburn House...
"Lovely hotel, situated in a lovely village with views of Whitby abbey from our window, recently renovated. Bedroom was nice and clean as was bathroom, 2 pillows were provided one hardish the other soft but flatter, could have done with something in between. Evening meal and breakfast were good, well cooked and hot.
Was in a lovely quiet area so very quiet on a night. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Could do with a shower holder in the shower so not bobbing up and down to get things...

"An eccentric small hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. There is no aircon so some of the rooms can be difficult to keep cool in sunny weather. The breakfast is menu based rather than a buffet and is very good although I would reccomend giving the cafetiere coffee a miss and going for something from the esspresso machine which is much better. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent although, like so many places there was over loud and completely un neccessary...
"We have just arrived back home from the most amazing stay at St Hilda's. We stayed in the Cairo room and the pictures do not do it justice it was just beautiful, the attention to detail is amazing. The bed was extremly comfy, we had such a lovely restful nights sleep. The room was absolutely spotless as well and has a really detailed information booklet with places to eat and drink, taxis and takeaways in it which was really handy. The lady that check us in was so friendly and made us feel...
