What a great little place! The staff were super friendly, rooms were clean and as advertised, food was good and as a solo female traveller I felt very safe. I stayed here for a few days while attending a wedding a nearby GG Yards, and even booked to stay on for an extra night. Gatehouse of Fleet & The Ship Inn had a really nice chilled vibe, plenty of things to do locally, and a lovely spot for exploring this part of Scotland.

not many places to eat in town, recommend booking evening meal in advance at busy times bathroom had good quality fittings it is a room above a pub in a rural location breakfast was well made. good porridge. scrambled eggs were made with cream and very tasty there is a spar nearby which is open late

When we arrived at the hotel it didn't look anything special from the outside. On entering into the small reception we received a very warm welcome and given some local information. We were directed to our room which was very spacious, clean and a nice outlook . The bed was very comfortable although I found the room warm but my husband slept right through the night, which is unusual for him. We opted to have dinner in the hotel and although a bit pricy we were very happy with what we ordered. A very pleasant stay and I would definitely return

We spent one evening and night at The Ship Inn as part of our Golden Wedding Celebrations. Lovely place to stay - it’s the 4th time we’ve stayed here when visiting the area and it’s always a pleasant experience. Good sized family room with my two sons, and overall a very clean and nice pub hotel with friendly staff.
