"Enjoyed the stay but it was noisy trying to get to sleep in the cottage room and I’m curious as to why there were only 9 loungers in the spa but there are 60 bedrooms ? I had to sit on a chair .. not really the spa experience I was looking for. Also another gripe of mine is no full length mirrors in bedrooms ? And no table near a mirror to sit and dry hair and do makeup ? It’s the little things that make all the difference."

"All the staff we dealt with were polite,really helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The room we stayed in was really big, the beds were so comfy. Plenty of parking available. We paid the small amount extra to use the pool, steam room, sauna & jacuzzi, which we concidered good value for money. We also paid extra for the breakfast, which again was good value, with lots of choice. In the bistro you can have a choice of two main meals (excluding the steak, to be fair of which i wasn't bothered...

"I don’t usually post negative comments but feel on this occasion it’s require based on the room rate. Our room including bathroom was slightly tired and is in need of a refreshment and lacked your normal toiletries for this level of hotel. The mini fridge compressors was very loud and as such led to both nights of poor sleep, not ideal when you book a weekend away to recover. However, the main building was very beautiful and had a nice lounge to relax in the evening."

"Was disappointed as I booked with Expedia, expecting to be able to use the facilities at the hotel. On checking in, I enquired about the facilities and was informed that if I had booked directly with the hotel, I would have been able to use the pool and gym and get breakfast included. To use the gym and pool, I would have to pay extra."

"Well located and the restaurant was really nice and breakfast lovely. Our king suite was located in the loft and was uncomfortably warm. We mentioed to the staff and they brought up an extra air conditioner. This didn’t help much and was far too noisy to sleep with it, so we didn’t sleep well. It definitely needs it’s own dedicated aircon system. The pool changing area was very tired and in need of some attention."

"The hotel was in a perfect location right across from the wall and with an easy walk into the heart of the old town. The staff were incredibly personable and helpful and were sincere in asking about us. We ate all dinners at The Rise. The food was fabulous."
