I have stayed at Arkdale lodge a gew times, always made very welcome by the hosts easy to walk to the city centre in kess than 20 minutes and bedrooms very comfortable

I had to ring ahead as I thought I would miss their opening hours, the proprietor was friendly+ helpful, said there would be no problem. In the following am was a very good breakfast, freshly cooked. Lovely place to stay. Very convenient for station and centre centre < 10 mins walk.

I checked in very late 11pm. I had rung ahead and I was met by Ishwar the owner with a friendly smile. He even asked if I had eaten? A friendly place owned and managed by Ishwar and his wife Sabita. This was my first stay but I will definitely look at staying there again.

Always a pleasure to stay at this place

I am a regular traveller to Glasgow and Preston and Manchester and living in a country area between the east and west coast of England I use Arkale lodge as a stopover for to rest and to catch my trains to my final destination the next day . Room 10 was spotless, great breakfast and a nice host as always. Comfortable nights sleep and plenty of rest during my stay and a nice Sunday night stay which was restful

Lovely stay

Brilliant service from Ishwar and Sabita, true care and consideration for an octogenarian guest. Great breakfast menu - cooked to perfection. However, stairs no lift and parking circa 100m in private shared carpark. Not at the pub next door which is only available for pub dining.

A good stay.

I enjoyed our 1 night stay made all the better by Ishwar the host. Really nice man. Even got in the car to direct me to his car park after I got confused by directions. It's 2 mins away behind buildings over the road. About half a mile, flat walk to station and town centre but £1.80 on one of the many buses that stop outside. Fantastic breakfast with cereals if you wish, juice/tea and full English.

The owner was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was superior. Our room was clean and spacious enough. We were disappointed with the parking as that was a major reason for booking here. The parking is a block away and there is no place to unload at the lodge so you have to haul luggage from a block away.

Nice clean hotel 10mins from station Ishwar and Sabita were very hospitable and welcoming and rounded off with a nice full English breakfast. I will be back when I’m in the area. Well done

The owner was extremely attentive, even got some decaf coffee for our room. We were able to book into our room early which was very convenient. The room was very clean and even little touches like cotton buds and cotton wool in the bathroom didn’t go unnoticed. The breakfast, wow, excellent, such a hearty meal, lots to choose from again the owner remembered I drank decaf. Attention to detail was excellent and calling me by my first name made it very welcoming and friendly. I will absolutely visit again. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable.

The manager was a good man and helpfull . Unfortunately, there was smell of old carpet , especially in my room smell so bad , i had to leave open the window but still no good . It need full refurbishment.

Warm Hospitality: The hosts at Arkale Lodge were some of the friendliest I've encountered. They were welcoming and attentive to our needs, making us feel right at home. Delicious Breakfast: The Full English breakfast was a true highlight. It was hearty, delicious, and perfectly fueled us up for our day of sightseeing. Great Value: Arkale Lodge offered excellent value for money. The comfortable accommodations, delicious breakfast, and friendly service made it a fantastic deal. Convenient Location: The location was excellent. The lodge was close to many pubs with great food options nearby, and within walking distance of Carlisle's attractions. Overall, Arkale Lodge provided a fantastic experience. From the spotless rooms and delicious breakfast to the warm hospitality and convenient location, everything was top-notch.
