The property is an a beautiful location however the décor is dated and tired and is terribly expensive for what is on offer. Service and food at the Bon Bon cafe on the property is terrible. Overall not a pleasant experience.
La Petite Dauphine was fantastic - the bedroom was extremely comfortable, with amazing bed linen and lovely bathroom products and the location is superb; 5 minutes outside of Frandhoek in very peaceful olive and wine groves. We had a delicious breakfast on both mornings at Cafe Bonbon, in particular the flapjacks (pancakes).
We stayed for 2 nights at La Petite Dauphine and the experience was 5* from start to finish. The welcome from Stefan at reception was exemplary. We had not booked anywhere for dinner, so he rang round and found us a table at Holden Manz Vineyard, which was an excellent choice. When he took us to our room we realised we had been upgraded to one of the Premier Suites, 8 On Olive. Wow! The accommodation was just beautiful and in the most stunning setting, with it's own terrace & plunge pool. We wished we had booked for a week as we really didn't have enough time to enjoy the stunning surroundings, or enjoy dinner at the on site restaurant. Breakfast was served on the terrace of Cafe Bon Bon and was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the gardens were just beautiful. We would love to return to Franschhoek and La Petite Dauphine would be our first choice.
A little piece of paradise in the jewel of South Africa. Being someone who is partial to good food/wine this is the perfect place to stay. The restaurants that were recommended to us by the manager far exceeded our expectations. I can thoroughly recommend the sirloin at the French Connection restaurant!!! Staff were exceptional on site!! Can't wait to go back
we booked an exclusive villa suite at La Petite Dauphine as that was all that was available there and places we had stayed in previously were booked up. but it was wonderful and we would definitely choose it again for our next stay in Franschoek - although one of 2 detached villas in the grounds, away from the main accommodation, it felt as if we were on our own. the accommodation was huge, with a very large dressing room/ bathroom, plenty of storage for clothes, an area with fridge, tiny sink and nespresso and tea making facilites. The room was beautifully furnished with sofa, armchairs, day bed etc and we had a large deck with large plunge pool (big enough for me to swim a few strokes) and very comfortable loungers and chairs - great for morning coffee, afternoon tea and early evening drinks! The views were beautiful, looking over lovely planting, with a lake, and mountains all around. Only a 5 minute drive to the centre where parking is easy. Breakfast was on the terrace at Cafe BonBon, again with beautiful views and a great choice.
A great option for high-quality accommodation when touring the local Franschhoek area and wineries. Really pleasant surroundings, a luxurious room and very helpful team.
Stayed 2 nights and wish it had been longer! Beautiful working olive farm. Lovely accommodation and wonderful grounds. Superb restaurant and luckily it was open on one of our nights. Excellent cafe for breakfast also. Very helpful, friendly and efficient staff. Only problem we had was that when we arrived (7.30 pm) the reception was closed, it was dark and there was no help. The management were very apologetic the next day and made amends for this. Would certainly love to return.
Only stayed for a couple of nights, but greatly enjoyed our trip. Main drawback is lack of a restaurant on site, so you almost always have to drive to dinner. But we knew that when we booked. Great, large room and private. Would have liked a slightly softer bed, but that is a personal opinion.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very secure but no heavy handed security. Beautiful area. La Petite Dauphine a very beautiful estate just out of Franschhoek in a wonderful setting with majestic mountains behind. Staff intelligent and very helpful. Food in Bon Bon restaurant on site excellent. Cottage where we stayed had very attentive and thorough cleaning and replenishment every day. Huge bathroom with bath and shower. Good bed. Good internet access and TV. Best place I've ever stayed.
A very tasteful property with wonderful ambience. Only a few minutes by car from the village so one can enjoy the best of the vibrance and the peace of the property. From the welcome to the amenities to the dining, everything was great and well worth the rates. There are so many little extra touches provided to make the stay a memorable one. Cottage No 6 has 2 bedrooms and very spacious and private in a delightfulcorner with squirrels playing in the trees. 3 nights was just not enough!
We were in Franschhoek for our honeymoon and a friend had recommended La Petite Dauphine. We couldn't have been happier. The staff was friendly and helpful the room (Cottage 8) was spectacular and we had one meal at the restaurant. The manager (Stephan) was very helpful with suggestions and reservations and even got us into a couple restaurants that were "fully booked". Overall a great choice.
Lugar paradisíaco, romântico, acolhedor... Merece a visita. A poucos kms do centro da cidade, esse hotel nos reserva um clima de sossego, calma e descanso. Recomendo!
