"Depends which room you get. I got a fantastic view of the river valley that i extended my stay for a night. Some rooms face the wall! Spring water was very good, but the onsen only opens at certain hours and swimming cap is required. Tub in the room is a bit small and cramped into the toilet. It will be best if the river can be seen from the tub. Service staffs friendly, provided breakfast lack variety (it’s the same for the 2 mornings). "

I also enjoyed the food, which was delicious. A real highlight was the live singer in the evenings; their performance was excellent and added a great atmosphere to the experience. I am already looking forward to my next visit!"

"What happened to the Tempus? I have stayed at the Tempus countless times in the past, and it was always a great stay in a fantastic location in Central Taichung. It seems that since the sale of the property back in 2023, the management has refocused on profitability at the expense of the patrons. All of the previous amenities have been eliminated, no room service, no laundry, almost no staff, and the once exceptional breakfast has been reduced to a truly disappointing presentation in the windowless basement. I'll never go back."

"We had a pleasant one-night stay. The hotel is clean and well-located with polite staff. It's a five star hotel but in actuality, it is a bit dated so it definitely doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel. Pricing reflected this so overall it was good value and perfect for our purposes of traveling with elderly parents and eating with relatives across the street at a solid restaurant in a department store. We also had a pleasant stroll in the evening and listened to a street musician. The chef at the breakfast buffet was super welcoming and chatting with customers. I appreciated his suggestions. Overall, a fine stay although I'd probably stay somewhere more updated if it were a different trip."

"From the moment you step onto the property the staff and ambience takes your breath away. The views are stunning. The service was 11/10. They upgraded our room without us asking as they knew we were celebrating a special occasion. The Chinese restaurant was delicious! My only regret with my booking was choosing to stay one night. If I stayed for two nights…I probably would never want to leave. The only minor inconvenience was that the room doesn’t offer many outlets for personal use. I needed to unplug the humidifier or room scent diffuser to use my Dyson or charge my devices. "
