Rural retreat near Canberra

Lovely well appointed cottage (just one of two) on an equestrian property with beautiful views towards the ACT. Rural setting only six clicks from Canberra but a world apart. Lovely owner Margaret. Nice extras such as local wine (wineries near by) and continental breakfast included.

A truly wonderful spot, a nice and quiet haven after visiting the busy centre of the city (which is only twenty minutes away by car). The only sounds you’ll hear are from kookaburras and magpies while the kangaroos merrily hop around. Margaret and Phill are the most lovely hosts you could wish for.

Good retreat stop

An out of town location with a perfect view. Lots of birds and kangaroos. Very quiet. Huge bath and very good towels Breakfast provided night before and can include Camembert cheese and smoked salmon or ham. Yogurt, fruit, cereal and bread to toast. Just ask for more if required from very nice owners. About ten minute drive to Pub or Golf Club for good meals. Our second stay, only complaint is lack of working space for food preparation

Amazing cottage in the countryside

We started our honeymoon from here and have to say we could not have chosen a better place. Margaret and Phil did their best to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The place and the views far exceeded our expectations. Definitely going to be back.

Nice country stay

We had 3 nights in Silhouete cabin - very comfortable and quiet stay on this equestrian property with fantastic sweeping views toward the southern mountains - only 8 minutes to civilisation and shops although it feels like we were out in the country. We really enjoyed our stay - we will be back and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay whether 1 or 7 nights.

A touch of Elegance

Beautiful accommodation , very cosy and comfortable, the host Margaret and Phil were very welcoming and helpful. We felt like we were in the country with beautiful views from our rooom but were only 15 minutes away from the city. We loved the continental breakfast provided and the bottle of champagne on arrival. We will definitely be back. This

Perfect country break

The cabin was lovely! Highlights were definitely the huge, deep soaking tub, big comfy bed with really nice quality linen, lovely views of the countryside and the little mob of kangaroos that grazed in the paddock behind the cabin in the afternoons! There had been a bit of heavy rain in the weeks before I stayed, which caused a bit of havoc with the unsealed driveways. The owners were quick to get a roller in to fix them up but they can be a bit rough going in a small car. There is a busy riding school on the property, but from the cabins I heard no noise at all, even on a busy Saturday. My only concerns were that the wifi was a bit patchy - worked perfectly one night, then was painfully slow the next, which was a bit of a struggle as it was sort of a working holiday for me, and that work involved being able to stream a video feed. Don't expect to bring your netflix with you, but you'll be fine if you're just checking emails etc. Margaret was an absolutely lovely host. She showed me around, gave me directions to the local shops and even gave me a great restaurant recommendation for my drive home. When not welcoming you to the property or wishing you a safe drive home the owners leave you to your privacy and I was undisturbed the whole weekend, though they are just a phone call away if you have questions. I will definitely stay again!

Picturesque getaway on a farm

Recommended by a friend I chose to book a long weekend stay at the silhouette cottage for me and my partner and we loved it Pros - perfect setting, kangaroos in the back paddock behind the cottage, comfortable bed and sunken bath. Cons - Wifi is too slow to use for anything significant (this didn't really matter because we were on a romantic getaway anyway but it'd be nice not to have to rely on mobile data the whole stay), dietary restrictions were attempted to be catered for in regards to the breakfast but the avocado wasn't even close to ripe and had to be thrown away, honestly I'd prefer to be given the option of a hot breakfast at the cafe but I did appreciate the effort and the call in advance to check

Beautiful Canberra!, views Wonderful Accomodation

This is a wonderful place just right for my needs of quiet views to die for, peaceful environment and space. No far from everything just off the Barton Highwsy near Hold Creek in North Canberra. Beautifully decorated it felt like home... only issue for me was that it would have been great to have had a small kitchen bench & sink. Everything was available & great quality but I found washing up in the bathroom not ideal as I stayed a few days & bring vegan cooking was necessary for me. But if you like to eat out it's All good! Beautiful b'fast provided great balcony back & front & the kangas at sunset/birds was lovely. Highly recommend this lovely spot & Margsret the host was really accommodating. Tjanara

Gooroman Park Cottages was unreal, I'll be back.

I was met by Margaret with the keys and given a tour, beautiful property in the Yass Valley just outside of the ACT. I'm down for work and the stay was excellent.

surprisingly great, clean, quite. very happy.

Very nice and clean room, has perfect internet connection and bed and sofa is very nice. Margaret is really nice person. Thanks to her again. I would love to go back again.

Cottage in countryside

The cottage is located in a rural area, far from the noise of traffic and other city disturbances. Ideal weekend getaway or somewhere to stay away from the city. Easy drive to Canberra or other rural locations.

Stunning location

Amazing, could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Went to Canberra for work and after staying at the cottage came back feeling like I had had a holiday. Every amenity and comfort was there. Very friendly staff who phoned me to assure I arrived with no problems and that everything was suitable in the room. I will defiantly be back.

Perfect

We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely country location with a great view across to Brindabella Ranges from the room and deck. Close enough to Canberra to access tourist destinations but away from the busy city. Beautiful (Elegant) room, nicely furnished, big bathtub for a luxurious soak, stack of magazines, wine and chocolates and breakfast supplies included. Hostess Margaret was lovely. Very fair tarrif for this, so much nicer than a motel room. Thank you. We would return in a heart beat if back in Canberra area.

Luxury and Lovely views.

We stayed in the Elegance cottage at Gooromon Park. How lovely! Beautifully decorated and lots of little luxuries provided. We were so glad we chose this over a hotel in the city of Canberra. We were only 10 minutes away from the city centre but enjoyed the privacy and space of a country retreat.
