"Great staff and very helpful. Good lcoation in proximity to Windermere and Bowness with ample car parking. Room was in the cottage out building and was large and comfortable. Onyl thing that needs to be improved is the cleanliness around things like skirting borads, cobwebs up walls, and the shower base edges where it hadn;t been cleaned for a long time. Breakfast provided is perfect, evening food is ok."

"Reception and Lady serving at breakfast were all lovely, room clean, shower really nice and food at bar and drinks all good. No car park at the hotel but parking at Cricket club a short walk away for 2 pound a day. Enjoyed our stay and would book again if ever in Kendal "

"A very peaceful break and very nice bright clean room , nice and warm thanks for the portable radiator. The only thing I would of liked, smaller pillows as I had problems sleeping, l could not sleep very well.kept waking up with a pane in my neck, did not use pillows in the end, apart from that, had a very nice break thank you."

"4 night break meeting up with friends. The staff were all friendly and proactively helpful. We did not use the spa, but parking was okay and the two 22kW EV chargers a welcome bonus. Location was perfect for town centre. Weather was wet for much of the time but we found plenty to do within a reasonable distance. Would happily stay here again."

"The indoor spa was great. Staff were awesome as well - really professional. Can imagine it's great when the outdoor spa is open and during the summer. Some of the negatives...breakfast could do with some improvements, the ingredients tasted low quality some of the cooking was questionable (fried eggs for example). The place had a general feel of getting refurbished so felt hard done by paying full price... Our room (28) smelt like drains and the view was blocked by scaffolding. Also some mold in the corner right by the window. "

"Friendly staff, clean room and only a hundred yards from the centre. Breakfast was excellent in a nice large bright room with conservatory."

"There is always a difficulty with noise at the Strathmore, this time there were people shouting and swearing right outside at 5 and 6am, it made a change from it happening inside the building but it is still so frustrating when I'm paying money to stay there and it gets spoiled by noisy individuals every time"
