Check in went smoothly with a lovely Iranian lady, she was very kind and helpful! The double room we were given was a good size with tea and coffee making facilities, and it overlooked the river and park, the room was warm and everything was clean, the bed was comfy, so no complaints about the room at all. All staff was lovely, polite and helpful!!! We really enjoyed our stay at the Arundel House Hotel and will no doubt be returning!!!

The hotel is perfectly serviceable, but there is little that is modern or special (and this is reflected in the price). Reception and breakfast staff were lovely, but reception is only open between 3 and 9pm. Soundproofing between rooms is poor. It's a lovely walk along the river into the centre of the city.

The room was good and has everything you need for a short stay, if maybe a bit dated. One challenge is that I could hear every footstep from the room above. The room was tidy but things such as the cups and kettle had dust on them and there was some hair left for me in the shower. One thing I will say was that the staff at breakfast were great and couldn't do enough for you. Overall, a good short stop in Cambridge.

The staff were great, the rooms were clean. Not a modern hotel but a comfortable hotel, we would stay again

Staff friendly.. on-suite a bit cosy, needed some tlc.. didn't feel I could use the shower ( a bit grubby).. other than that the rest was ok.. breakfast was good. We could hear people coming in at night, and in the rooms either side and above..

Good location with many nice restaurants and bars within a short walk....but there was no noise from any of these Ample Parking is also a great bonus. We enjoyed a cooked breakfast to start our day off which was very nice

Die Unterkunft ist wie viele in dieser Art und Kategorie sehr abgewohnt und es wird einfach nicht investiert. Hier wird sich viel Mühe gegeben, die zu kaschieren. Jedoch geht gar Nicht: - Mehrere Haare auf dem Bett die deutlich, fast schon absichtlich sichtbar platziert wurden - Das Waschbecken NICHT gereinigt wurde und noch von den Gästen vorher Reste und Schutz vorhanden war!!! Was ist den so schwer daran, dies in einmal mit Badreiniger zu reinigen? Vor allem für den Preis von 100 € pro Nacht sollte das drin sein. Leider wurde auch nicht auf die Wünsche eingegangen. Daher max. als Notlösung für eine Nacht zu empfehlen. Ansonsten Finger weg!! Do not book this Hotel!! It´s urgly and terrible dirty.

This was an adequate stay. The breakfast room/service was very good, but the remainder of the hotel is old, tired, and mattress was exceptionally soft ( negative)

A great stay for our 2 days in Cambridge. We were able to walk into the city centre and leave the car at the hotel. Quite a few pubs around for dinner especially one right on the river. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was plentiful and included a full cooked breakfast as well as croissants, cereal, yogurt and muffins. The rooms could be a little cleaner and our shower leaked onto the bathroom floor.

Rooms smelt, the mattress was broken with springs sticking through. Pulled the sheets back to reveal a frayed, stained dirty filthy mattress. No one around to speak to, no reply from emails and phones calls to Ashley Hotel and Arundel Hotel. Avoid.

I definitely would stay again!
Just going out so have to be brief. This is not a modern hotel by any means. More of a grand old lady. But what it lacks in sparkle is more than made up for by the comfort, the cleanliness, the free parking and free wi-fi (I was in room 1) the ultra attentive and polite staff and the excellent breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed two nights here it was wonderful we had a room on the second floor & we had a little sun room this was lovely. We had two cooked breakfast here two mornings it was great & the staff were wonderful.

Very well situated hotel within 5 minutes walking to the river and only a stroll into the town, really large private car park at the rear and a pub 1 minute away should you have the need which I did and it’s fine, only slight criticism is the en-suite was really small, really really small but that’s it,yes would stay again,really enjoyed our weekend in Cambridge

Strange check in procedure and dated decor
The check-in procedure was carried out at a sister hotel which was a 10 minute walk down the road. The rooms are dated but they were clean and well stocked with towels and amenities, even if there was a smell of damp. Included breakfast was nice and plenty of parking available. I really feel as though more signage should exist for guests who haven't stayed before.

Atrocious!
I can't believe this "hotel" is in Cambridge in this day and age and still operating! Broken curtains/windows, toilet not flushing bath not draining and on top of it a message on steamed up bath window, photo attached. Showed this to the receptionist it made him jump. Despite the complaint about the issues in the room, no action was taken during my three-day stay at this creepy place.

When i booked I requested a family room with 3 single beds. This didn’t happen. Also thought the room would be on the ground floor. Ours was the top of the building up many stairs. Told we couldn’t change as the family rooms were already booked.

Nice hotel and good location to be able to walk into Cambridge. There was no shower but a bath in the family room which was tricky. There was the old fashioned rubber attachment to attach to the bath taps

The hotel has a quirky layout, nicely decorated room with period features, blackout curtains and modern en-suite, friendly and accommodating staff. It would have been nice if the TV was on a swivel arm as it was secured to the wall so we could not really watch TV in bed and it would have been nice if check in was earlier than 3pm. Overall we had a good stay and would stay here again.

Check in arrangements were terrible , was advised that I could collect room key early from sister hotel down the road as we were attending a festival and would be back too late for check in . On arrival we rang the door bell at the Ashley to find out location of the sister hotel , they gave us directions and told us to walk down and collect the key , on arrival at the sister hotel they told us we don’t have the room keys here we would have to go back to the Ashley and wait for someone to come and check us in , after walking back to the Ashley we were met by the cleaning ladies who gave us a key . The same ladies served our breakfast the next morning they were very pleasant and hard working . The room was clean and comfortable , the shower wasn’t very good and needs replacing . Not sure why but room was very hot as the heating had been out on . The reception staff need to be sure that what they say can be done is achievable as information we were given wasn’t what actually happened on the day .

very clean. Very generous breakfast included in the price. Free parking and good walking/cycling access to Cambridge centre via a pedestrian bridge onto Midsummer Common. Reasonable price. Ideal for a 2-3 day stay.
