This guest house is in a fantastic location right next to Loch Goil. The hosts are very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. We were in room 2 which has a side view of the Loch and of the bird feeders where we saw numerous small birds and a red squirrel.
Room 1 looks straight over the Loch.
Very comfortable bed though for me the duvet was too thick for the time of year.
The hosts provide a log cabin for residents use equipped with heaters and lights indoors and seating /table outside. We had a pleasant evening there with some food we brought and a bottle of wine overlooking the Loch where we saw seals swimming past.
It is necessary to drive out to eat , the nearest place is the View at Drimsynie Estate.
Would recommend this guest house, a beautiful location.
Amazing location on the side of a Loch, a bit rural worth the extra mile for the views - red squirrels and birds. Lovely accommodation and amazing breakfasts and very friendly owners -
We had a fantastic time at Lochwood House. The hosts Don and Lorraine couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is of a very high standard and the breakfasts were great. The location is fantastic and there is lots of wildlife to spot, including seals and red squirrels.
Exceeded expectations, fantastic position overlooking loch. Owners very friendly and welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Only slight downside was 5 mile drive along single track road from main road but soon forgotten when we saw views from property!
Beatifull property, stunning views, peacefull and quiet, ideal for romantic gateway. Fantastic hosts, very attentive and carrying. Great choice of hot and cold breakfast. I highly recommend it :)
An amazing space to just be & chill out. B & B with decking, area with seating , cosy log cabin & spacious garden area overlooking tranquil loch. Seals can be seen bobbing about & red squirrels are a frequent visitor to the garden. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming and the breakfast includes croissants, fresh fruit & Loch Fyne smoked salmon.
The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean.
There are nearby walks including at Carrick Castle and Donich Falls. The village pub often has live music & the holiday park near the village has a restaurant, takeaway & swimming pool.
Can also recommend the boat house cafe nearby with lovely sandwiches (they also do takeaway) & views
We stayed 2 nights and it was a real wrench to leave. A really special place.
