"Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. "Absolutely wonderful staff, amazing property. Stayed in a quiet room with our family, having direct access to the gardens. Special mention also to the Chef de Cuisine: he created a beautiful dinner, which was enjoyed very much by our children as well. A truly unique hotel well worth visiting."
