"Very good prices for the room, the bar and restaurant. Free coffee in the lobby. 👍 The hotel is so quiet. You hear nothing within your room, which is non existent nowadays, with the cookie cutter franchise hotel chains. All kinds of quiet, well lit, comfortable places in the hotel, to sit and read, on comfortable couches and chairs by the historic windows. The hotel is majestic and the rich history is great. I love the history museum in the Lower Level. No extra charges: Free Parking No resort fees Free, really nice, work out facility, open 24 hours. Nearby, 10 minute walk to Elmwood Avenue: Great bars, quick places to eat, awesome Pubs, and finer dining restaurants on Elmwood Ave. Incredibly diverse neighborhood. Everyone is so nice and accepting. Didn't have a bad meal or experience on Elmwood Ave for the week we were at The Richardson. I cannot recommend The Richardson, the hotel staff, the area or our experience, any higher than "Incredible" It's now our "go to" hotel every time we come to Buffalo. Buffalo people are so darn nice.❤️"

"The staff was great. Very helpful and friendly. I have stayed here in the past, but on this visit I could see the need for some major cleaning (staircase carpet}, refurbishment of aged furniture in the room, and replacement of water damaged ceiling tile throughout the facility. If my room is indicative of the condition of others, new mattresses are a must - I spent three nights sunk into the middle of my king bed due to the busted down softness. My key cards took me 6 to 8 tries every time I entered my room, even after asking for new cards. Perhaps new entry mechanisms or doors would be nice. I hope the new owner can restore he grand facade and shine to this facility. E"

"I chose this property due to it being close to the airport. Funny thing, I never heard one plane flying. The first thing that I noticed when walking to our room was how dirty the hall rug was. We were in awe with the size of the room - it was big. We had a double queen size beds with a sofa in the room. The sofa was filthy that I had to put a sheet over the sofa before sleeping on it. There were 4 adults and due to my handicapping condition, I can not sleep in a bed. I sleep sitting up therefore, the reason for sleeping on the sofa. I believe that the sofa has not been cleaned in a while - stains and dirty sections and the sofa bottom had rips in it. The shower inside was clean, the handle was broken and the floor near the shower had caked on with dirt in the corners. Management needs to check rooms or have a list of what needs fixing that the cleaning person(s) fill out on a daily basis or find people who care about their job. The breakfast starts at 4:30 am and goes until 10:30 on the weekends. The lady who runs the breakfast was very polite, sweet and helpful. The breakfast consisted of yogurt, mixed fruit cups, bagels, bread, mini muffins, cereal - 3 different kinds, making of your own waffles, coffee, milk, teas, orange juice, apple juice and cranberry juice, scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. The food was hot and delicious. I felt that the parking was safe and it was free. As far as the staff, I only dealt with them in checking in/out. "

"For the price, thus excellent. Very comparable to the Hampton Inn, Springhill Suites type places, but half the price. Hilton and Marriott need to reduce their prices and points to be competitive. I am Diamond Member and Platinum Member of each, but ut just isn't worth staying in those chains when you need to pay double the rate of a La Quinta."

"The sound of water in the courtyard makes it very peaceful with all the plants and trees surrounding. Kids in the pool playing and having fun made it seem like a beach vacation. The staff greats you warmly and the restaurant on site has a decent menu for quick food and drinks. Nice place to stay and the location is very convenient."
