  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. The lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great is a dark Romanesque structure that remains virtually unchanged. The venerated relic is in the upper chapel, which was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 16th century and renovated multiple times during the 19th century in Gothic Revival style. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once one of the world's chief commercial cities. new renovation with neutral design, new high quality furniture, everything you need, excellent location, real hotel lobby nearby with very professional staff. Everything was perfect although we did get mosquitoes when we opened the bedroom window (so keep it closed and use a fan!)

It is a great property, clean safe and close to the square and some really great shopping and dining. The only issue is apparently the top floors don’t have air conditioning, and it was sweltering in the apartment.

Spacious option close to everything

Spacious (Marquis) lots of space for 3 people. Very close walk to everything. Staff very friendly and helpful. Kitchen is well appointed although we ended up only doing breakfasts in our room. Dining room table is large and good for playing cards (seats at least 6 people). Only knock was couch was ok but could have been a little more comfortable- maybe just add some cushions. Had elevator which was nice vs carrying luggage up 3 flights.

Good alternative to a hotel room

Large, modern hotel apartment with a small roof terrace and elevator. Only 100 meters to the town square which has a bell tower playing little tunes every 15 minutes during the day (not night). Quit, however streets below has copplestones and a little traffic, which can be heard from the terrace, but not much from inside the appartment. Very comfortable main bed, but a bit thin mattress for grown-ups on the fold-out sofabed (that’s usually how they are). We made some meals in the kitchen; a good alternative to eating out, which is a bit pricy.

Fantastic central location, host in hotel just around the corner and super responsive to any requests or questions. Lots of indoor space and the balcony was a great addition to sit out with the Belfy in view

Great place to stay for a family! Very helpful, good communication. Lovely apartment very close to market square in Bruges. Only negative is no AC and it was hot august days (and unfortunately mosquitoes and bites if you leave windows open)
