Great location. The beach and golf course are just around the corner. The room had two single beds which I thought was odd for a premier king. They did offer to push them together with a king size quilt, but i don't really consider that the same. The evening meal was very nice, but staff a little awkward. They didn't seem to understand what a gin martini was, and how to bill it. I'm being a little picky.. They're close to getting a 5 star review from me.. it just wasn't quite perfect. Would stay again though, location was excellent.

Disappointing Brora Stay

The room was fine and the bed comfortable but the room was not serviced very well, bathroom floor dirty, towels not changed at all during our 3 night stay. The restaurant is overpriced and the sevice slow especially at breakfast time ( we waited 40 mins for our breakfast one morning). Not enough staff to cope at busy times. The food was average and did not justify the high prices.

Absolutely great location, played golf with sheep on the course, and that is not a criticism, far from it, the sheep keep the rough shorter but….. remember to clean your shoes when you leave the course.. 👍😁

Great boutique break!

Lovely hotel with great decor and comfortable furnishings - refreshing to find this amid the the dreary type of scottish hotel still being offered to tourists. Staff friendly, manager very visible and hands on support for guests and staff. Food great. Young waiter even offered to make us stronger coffee for breakfast 👍

This is overall a very nice hotel, and the room was very comfortable. My gripe is with the wi-fi. It’s hopeless. Disconnects and reconnects constantly, and is incredibly slow. I don’t actually understand how they can make it this bad. You’d have to start with a dial-up modem, but at least that might have a stable connection.

Stayed at this 4 star hotel having stayed at one in Inverness. Supposedly both 4 stars but Royal Marine was on a different level!! Food was great, staff were helpful and friendly. Management were visible and saw the Manager trying to help guests on future reservations due to weather conditions making it difficult for their onward travel. Reception gave recommendations for attractions in the local areas. It represented excellent value and would definitely stay there again.

The room we had was a disabled room and not at any point were we told of this at check in. My partner is 6’4” and I’m 5ft 5, everything is for wheel chair guests so we had to bend down for the mirrors the shower was far too low for my partner .The light in the bathroom was not good for applying makeup on . When asked if everything had been good at the hotel , I told the receptionist that I wasn’t happy with the room she said she would have upgraded me if I had said on arrival !! Makes no sense - I didn’t book a disabled room and therefore should have been told or we should have been placed n another room that was available. Plus I had issues with the tv and had to get 2 people to come and sort it out and they couldn’t get the subtitles removed at all . This was very disappointing as the food and service was good. 10% has been taken off my food bill.

Beds too small, not a double!

Hotel was initially impressive, standing overlooking the harbour. Warm welcome, and a small, compact room. However, when we looked more closely at the bed realised that it was tiny, certainly not a ‘double’ as we would know it. Hotel later confirmed it’s a ‘European’ double. No other rooms available so no upgrade. Not happy with description on website. Also, at 5am the night porter was out at the coal pile with a shovel getting supplies in for the day. At 5am!! Told receptionist, who promised to deal with it, but the same thing happened the following morning. Not on our 3rd morning, but apparently it was a different night porter. Maybe one with a brain? Would we stay again? Probably not, as the size of the bed was a real issue.

Could do better.

The hotel has just been refurbished so very clean. The service was very good. However the walls in the rooms, where natural light is limited due the size of the windows, have been painted dark blue or green which means you feel you’re staying in a dark hole and you have to have the lights on every time you’re in the room. Bright walls would have been much more inviting. Also note the duvet is 13.5 tog which is ridiculous even for a Scottish summer. My final gripe is whilst the cooked breakfast was very tasty I have never stayed in a hotel that offered no cereal for breakfast. Just Granola, muesli or Wheetabix (oh and if you want pancakes it’s a 20 min wait) If you are booking through Hotels.com be careful about rooms advertised as Seaview. None of the rooms have a seaview. The hotel doesn’t look over the sea!!! Naughty. Positives: it’s a short walk into the centre of the village and the pub and go the other way takes you down to a virtually deserted beach. Golf club around the corner has great views over North Sea and does lovely food up to 5pm
