Charming hotel, questionable cleaner

Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast good. Bathroom had a lot of black mould, but cleanliness was otherwise good. Clearly an older building, but that adds to the charm. The cleaner kept trying to come into my room in the morning — including opening my door wide — despite my repeated indications that I was naked, and that she could come back at 11.

cheap good location with strange people at night

Positive: - great location walking distance to a shopping street - free parking space in the backyard of the hotel - breakfast included + cheap when compared with other hotels (they serve booze with the breakfast - gammel dansk) Negative: - disgusting bathroom (old and filthy - you do not want to touch anything) - hot in the room - no A/C - you need to sleep with an open wondow - BUT (!) then you hear every car and scooter that drives by on the cobbelstone road, and you hear all the drunks walking and screaming in downtown. You also inhale the cigarette smoke from outside (!) - not very clean in general - at night I saw a half-naked lady on the corridor followed by a man walking 20 feet behind her up to the room. Another lady was sitting and waiting downstairs at the closed reception (!) - she went in and out - smoked outside the hotel - all the smoke was going up to the room (!) - awful experience! You get scared to go out. - there should be someone in the reception all night long to prevent such situations - sleepless night If you do not care about the surroundings and noises - go for it. It is a good price. But if you want to have a quiet undisturbed goodnight sleep - go somewhere else.

Hotel Phønix is a simple old hotel. No elevator, the floor squeaks and the breakfast is basic. But all in all quite nice, don’t expect the grand experience, the hotel isn’ttrying to be anything else than it is. I do recommend for a short stay if you don’t plan to use the hotel as special part of your vacation.

The pictures of the hotel looked very nice, but it wasn't realistic. The bathrooms are very old, both me and my wife showered in slippers cause it felt little hygenic not to. The room has very little furniture and is not cosy at all.

Hotellet er litt slitt og uten heis, men det er ikke så viktig for oss. Romslig rom. Vi kom sent, så parkeringsplass var full, men uproblematisk å parkere i nærheten. Vi var i Brønderslev en vakker og vindstille torsdag midt i juni og hadde tenkt oss på kro/pub. Vi fant ikke noe åpent.
