The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. "

"The doors operate on a keycode system so it's very much an air bnb set up rather than a staffed pub. There are very few instructions of where to go or what to do. The room was quite dirty - thick gunk in the shower, a pube, hairs on the bedding and a stained bed base. The room was also absolutely freezing after the radiators switched off at 10pm. I woke up at 2am cold and slept in my hat. There were no additional blankets, no electric radiator, loads of condesation and damp on the inside of...

"The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...
