"Reception The staff on reception went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. We travelled to Braintree to celebrate my 80th birthday as our family is somewhat scattered, with our eldest daughter living in Braintree. We had booked 3 rooms and the wonderful reception staff allowed my daughter access to each room to leave special gifts for us and balloons in my room. There was even a birthday card and prosecco from the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with vegetarian...

"Room comfortable and quiet no aircon and very warm so kept window open. Reception friendly and efficient. Swimming pool area very good - cushions on loungers getting a little tired. Restaurant excellent service and food. Coping with large groups in other rooms didn't affect service. Breakfast area well stocked. Only complaint was one of the staff in the breakfast area taking fruit from the plates with his fingers - several times for his own breakfast."

"Ideal hotel to be close to the town centre and approx 10 mins walk to the waterfront. I had a small double room with no window but it was a sufficent size with clean bedding and a lovely modern bathroom. Pleasantly surprised with the nice smelling hand wash and shower gel. Nice touch. I would definitely stay here again "
